It's actually a continuation of the same break they already have. The issue is that it's about to end, which will mean a huge hit on their bottom line. WHich will mean less ability to make a cost effective bid to build the best ships in the world. Lost contracts - lost work = lost jobs

Agreed, Jim. BIW claims that they need the $60 mil tax break to stay competitive. I don't see General Dynamics passing out $1000 bonuses to BIW employees like about 250 other companies have done. I hope that the state isn't suckered into giving them the tax cut they've asked for especially since there's little chance BIW employees will benefit in any way.
