Hillary deserves the benefit of the doubt; I can see how it could take 33,000 emails to get her into a yoga class and make Chelsea look good in a wedding dress.

My only critique is that I think Cohen should get a pardon as well. He seems to be singing like a canary to save his own skin and so why give the left a case to make the pardon is selective and personal? Cohen's career as a lawyer is over (whose going to trust him now and rightly so?) so cut him loose.

It is a brilliant idea to grant a pardon after such an investigation is over because it emphasizes the fact that Mueller ran a campaign of harassment rather than an actual investigation into his scope. It will also set a wonderful precedent that Republicans (and perhaps conservatives) help their own. A message that has been sorely lacking.

Kingrat-OG • 5 years ago

I will never forgive Congressional Republicans for leaving President Trump to fight the Deep State by himself. I will always vote Independent or not at all for any and all Congressional representatives. Period. Get lost 'Never Trump'er' Republicans. You all suck. Thanks for not having our backs when we needed you most.

PRESIDENT TRUMP IS A FELON

Trump appears to be guilty of a felony, said Napolitano.

“The felony is paying Michael Cohen to commit a felony. It’s pretty basic,” he said, explaining how hiring someone to commit a crime makes you guilty of that crime. “You’re liable, criminally liable for the commission of that crime. That’s what the prosecutors told the federal judge.”

Uh ? Please make a cogent argument that Trump is guilty of something. Please present facts and federal laws that were broken!

Stop echoing Liberal Media, wishes, fantasies, hopes, platitudes etc.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

I'm not going to waste time by hand-feeding you facts when they're readily available. The info prosecutors provided a judge today in Cohen's sentencing cannot be offered without factual documentation. Judge Napolitano works for Fox.

D. Ploribus Unum • 5 years ago

So, you believe Fox News now after not believing Fox News for two decades? Tell us more!

osage1948 • 5 years ago

Didn't say I believe Fox News. In response to the false charge that I was echoing Liberal Media, I pointed out that Judge Napolitano is a Fox conservative. Too subtle for you?

Bubba Gump • 5 years ago

Judge is a Libertarian not a Conservative. IOW he is a fence rider who will follow the piper if that is where the crowd is.

Thanks for reaffirming my point: you BELIEVE Trump is a felon. Meanwhile, he will keep making America great again. Thanks for playing.

Wardog00 • 5 years ago

Belief without evidence is not enough to base a judgement.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

The NYSD criminal lawyers "believe" they have evidence. That's good enough for me.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

The only fact preventing Trump from being charged with multiple felonies is the fact that he's the POTUS. He's guilty as hell, but DOJ policy says you can't indict a sitting president. That's the only fact that his deviant supporters can hide behind.

watchdogsc • 5 years ago

what about him being extorted by both bimbos

Bubba Gump • 5 years ago

Stormy Babe is needing some cash to pay off the Trumpsters legal fees. Guess that backfired on her.

Stephieanne Law • 5 years ago

I almost feel sorry for the gal. She was taken for a ride by that gutter snipe lawyer. He surely can't help her pay it back!

osage1948 • 5 years ago

If, as he claims, he didn't have sex with either women, why would he choose to pay them anything?

Why didn't he report them to the appropriate legal authorities for trying to extort him with false accusations if he didn't have sex with either women?

Why did he have Cohen pay them out of Cohen's pocket and then pay Cohen back through bogus legal billings plus a $60,000 bonus if he didn't have sex with either women?

Whether it was hush money or extortion, in either case, Trump PAID THEM to prevent them from going public with information that he believed would influence his presidential campaign. That is a federal crime. And he hid the means by which they were paid because he KNEW that what he was doing was a felony.

Osage1948, you are incredibly naive. Why didn't Trump report the bimbos and pursue extortion prosecutions? Yeah, that would have kept everything quiet. Why did Trump arrange payments? Because that was the easy way to shut them up. Were the payments intended to influence his presidential campaign? My guess is that Trump paid off these women and others over the years and it was to preserve his reputation and keep his wives and family from knowing his indiscretions, and that's not a campaign finance law violation. And my other guess is that I've been practicing law about as long as Andrew Napolitano has, so now you have two opinions from two different lawyers.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

The serial cheater has betrayed ALL of his wives. He still hasn't admitted that he had sex with McDougal or Daniels. An honorable and trustworthy family man indeed?!

He had sex with McDougal or Daniels long before he started running for president, but "your guess" is he was motivated to pay them off AFTER starting his campaign instead of THEN because he SUDDENLY wanted to protect his sterling "reputation".....and or he SUDDENLY became ''sensitive" to the feelings of his wife and family....and or he SUDDENLY decided to direct AMI to payoff McDougal and Cohen to payoff Daniels under the table AFTER he became a presidential candidate because he was afraid it would INFLUENCE the election. The timing doesn't suggest anything to you?

My guess is, you're no more a lawyer than Trump is a moral man. However, if you've been practicing law as long a Napolitano has, perhaps you should contact the state prosecutors working for NYSD and enlighten them to the error of their ways.

"But prosecutors are conducting a criminal investigation, and they determined that the payments, which were made to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal in the weeks leading up to the 2016 presidential election, were indeed meant to help Trump’s candidacy. Cohen was charged with campaign finance violations (among other crimes), pleaded guilty, and on Wednesday was sentenced to three years in prison.

Cohen was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges related to these payments, as well as bank and tax fraud charges. Though Trump is alleging this is “only civil,” there is clearly a criminal investigation underway.

Given that Cohen has pleaded guilty to crimes and is heading to prison, Trump’s claim that “there was no violation” makes no sense."

https://www.vox.com/2018/12...

I doubt Stormy Daniels or Karen McDougal saw any value in extorting money from Trump before he decided to run for President. Why bother to extort money from a real estate developer / TV personality? And I'm also asking myself "Why bother arguing with an idiot like Osage? I've got better things to do." Have a nice day.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

Osage, you're a complete tool if you believe this stuff. Go play in a busy street.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

This from someone who "believes" in a pathologically dishonest 72-year-old megalomaniacal malignant narcissist who dyes his multi-directional comb over golden yellow, wears orange kabuki pancake make-up that a 72-year-old drag queen wouldn't be caught dead wearing, squints throw beady eyes with white circles around them and wears suits designed by Omar the Tent Maker?!

Go find a busier street to play in.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

Aren't you assuming that McDougal and Daniels approached Trump and asked to be paid off for their silence?

Wardog00 • 5 years ago

I used to believe that betraying a wife was bad enough to make a man ineligible for President. Democrats from Kennedy, Johnson to Clinton have proven me wrong. We are just holding Trump to the same standard you held those men to.

Bubba Gump • 5 years ago

Strange that the Trumpster hasn't been charged with any crime to date wouldn't you say?

osage1948 • 5 years ago

Moron! It is DOJ policy that sitting presidents cannot be indicted. That archaic policy is the only thing preventing prosecutors from indicting Trump for multiple felonies for which anyone who isn't POTUS would be spending the rest of their lives in prison for committing.

Bubba Gump • 5 years ago

Can you name one felony the Trumpster has committed that is conformed from reliable sources? Didn't think so, Moron back at you.

Wardog00 • 5 years ago

What he said was that the judge in the Cohen case issued a finding that declared Trump guilty of ordering Cohen to commit a felony. Interesting that a person can be found guilty without a trial just because a judge says so.

Stephieanne Law • 5 years ago

Goodness, who let you out of your psych ward?

osage1948 • 5 years ago
Colonel Reb • 5 years ago

1. Cohen is trustworthy?
2. Even if trustworthy on this: If a client's lawyer tells me "Give me this money, and I will take care of this matter in a manner that complies with the law," then a client lacks mens rea, and there is no crime on the client's part.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

David Pecker (AMI) paid McDougal. Cohen paid Daniels. Both Pecker and Cohen have sworn to prosecutors that the payments they made were at Trump's direction. Trump didn't pay McDougal or McDaniels directly to hide the fact he was paying them. He paid them in a way meant to hide that the money was coming from him. That demonstrates the intention and awareness of wrong doing.

Bubba Gump • 5 years ago

That does not constitute criminal actions or any laws broken. If you go down this path then we should investigate the congressional slush fund to make hush payments. BTW that is criminal because there should be a record of the payments that congress has and made public. That is criminal.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

Deflecting with whataboutism AGAIN! Irrelevant and meaningless, just like the GOP is about to be. Let's talk about Trump's "road" as that's what my comment is about.

Not just Michael Cohen but AMI, the corporation --- they are saying, no, this was done in agreement with the president's campaign to influence the election.

It's a federal felony to make these payments, to keep them quiet for the purpose of influencing the election.

We're talking about a man who first said he didn't know anything about these payments. Then, he said, it's no big deal, he's just settling with women to keep them quiet. Now he's claiming he didn't do anything illegal and dopes like you are aping him.

John Galt • 5 years ago

And, you selectively ignore the poster's first and most important point - no laws were broken. You cannot be a criminal if you haven't broken any laws. It is not against the law to pay someone to be quiet. It also is not against the law to lie, assuming he did
[unless it's under oath, and he wasn't.] Q.E.D.
Keep trying though, because you guys are fueling our winning; you especially motivate this president And - soon there will be no hateful Left left.

osage1948 • 5 years ago

So, let me get this straight. YOU BELIEVE that Trump paying off women to prevent them from going public with information that would negatively influence his election was LAWFUL?! Both Michael Cohen and David Pecker have testified in their plea deals that Trump directed them to pay women to keep them quiet in order to influence his election.

YOU BELIEVE that the prosecutors for NYSD LAWFULLY charged Cohen for facilitating hush money payments for the purpose of influencing Trump's election, but the fact that Trump had knowledge of and directed Cohen to facilitate those payments was LAWFUL?!

YOU BELIEVE that Cohen and Pecker cut plea deals and lied to NYSD prosecutors about Trump directing them to make payments to McDougal and Daniels for the purpose of influencing his election and that NYSD prosecutors simply took them at their word without corroboration?

The government made that allegation.....“With respect to both payments, Cohen acted with the intent to influence the 2016 presidential election,” the filing reads. “Cohen coordinated his actions with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls, about the fact, nature, and timing of the payments. In particular, and as Cohen himself has now admitted, with respect to both payments, he acted in coordination with and at the direction of Individual-1.”

The government is stating in a federal court that Individual-1 coordinated and directed a felony be committed. But YOU disagree with them?!

Stephieanne Law • 5 years ago

It was not UNlawful. Can't you get that thru your hate filled skull? No one cares if he had sex with a porn star or a bunny. Just like you didn't care that bill diddled a 21 yr old intern in our white house. Now go lie down!
