Do you put beans in the grinder while turning the dial? Or do you turn it while it grinds without beans? I couldn’t find a good answer online; would like to avoid wasting beans every time I switch grind size.

Hi Jenny! Glad you also went for the perfetto. Good question, to be honest I've tried all methods of adjusting grind size. I agree that I don't want to waste beans while changing size. I don't use the stock hopper and always "single dose" for each grind. This means I can leave the grinder running (without beans) while making adjustments to the grind size. I used to sometimes change grindsize while it is off, but then the burrs tend to get stuck on leftover beans so I'd recommend avoiding that.
