Very accurate. I think the best thing you can hope for your kids is to get them a good tutor or homeschool them yourself. Not just india, pretty much all schools around the world are like this.
But then, not everyone can afford to do that due to various reasons be it financial / time
Indeed everyone can't do this, due to various reasons such as:
- Financial difficulties
-Parents don't really care about what happens in the school as they just need to "put their kids in school". These people who themselves never realized the value or meaning of education, have no interest in improving the situation of their progeny as they have no clue that this can improve and how to.
- Putting kids in "tuitions" where the teacher aims to "finish syllabus" faster than at school, thinking that if the student re-learns something in school, they will be able to understand it better. Instead, what happens is that the student has to study multiple topics at the same time to keep up. Solve 2 sets of "homework" rather than 1. Which kids are sent to these "tuitions"? The ones that struggle academically. So, you pick a student who finds it difficult to cope with the pace of teaching or method of teaching at school and you send them to a place that is teaching at a faster pace, that is essentially the same, if not worse.
Education in India is a shitshow. Why? Cause the people supposed to audit this system have no clue as to what is wrong. A Government school principal being audited by the state officials later gave a statement to the media that the only questions that the officials asked were regarding the mid-day meal given to the students and whether they had milk in the diet and whether that was cow milk or buffalo milk.
This is what the educational audit tested. Whether students had cow milk in lunch or buffalo milk?
Another surprise audit in an MP school revealed that the "English teacher for class 8 couldn't read the textbook that they were teaching from.". The English teacher couldn't read or write the language.
This country has frustrated me so much that I for one am sure that I will never have my kids live here, let alone study in this education system. Our politics is a retarded cesspool of brain eating flesh bacteria.
These leaders can't stop the brain drain when their focus is on Mandir, Masjid, Caste, alliances, getting in power, staying in power, making as much money as they can while they can.
One of the things that i think students need to do is ask themselves "why they have to think" not how they'r supposed to think. This mindset fosters creativity... (I think) in a human mind. The problem also is students are spoonfed from the day they start their schooling that it becomes impossible for them to express opinions about any random stuff or even pursue any research about any topic that they do find interest in.
TLDR: They have become spoilt brats{that includes me :)}
