I tried swagbucks did surveys ect. Got nothing. Alot of times they said there werent any surveys to . waste of time

Nell • 9 years ago

Please don't bother with New Vista Live - they're absolutely terrible! Like for a lot of other people, if you look up reviews on them, they started off ok, which is probably why they were fine when you tested them. Well over a year down the line and I've been stuck at around 20 quid forever! They hardly ever send anything now, and I get screened out of most of the things they do send - usually after I've answered a suspiciously large amount of questions! I think they get the information they want out of you and then screen you out to avoid paying.
Last night was the first time they said they'd screened me out for making a mistake. They said I'd said I was 70, on the LAST question after 30 minutes!! I hadn't, obviously, even though I may have felt it last weekend... The email they gave me to complain to apparently doesn't exist - I give up....

Dorota Niwinska • 6 years ago

Agree, they'r rubbish. I joined them a couple of years ago. Had surveys pretty much frequently till I reach around £20 then all suddenly stopped. I sent few emails but none of them has been replied. Don't waste you time. Just reed the comments on their FB page. Nothing has changed.

Ellie • 7 years ago

Toluna is rubbish. They screen you out of far too many surveys, sometimes when you're a good way into them, and they take forever to process your reward requests when you eventually get enough points for one. Don't waste your time with them

peanutlee33 • 7 years ago

AGREED

Ben Simpson • 6 years ago

lol they reward just fine you just don't match their criteria probably. what you think is the survey will most likely be screening questions

Nirmal Kumar • 6 years ago

Global Test Market is my favorite paid survey site mentioned above. Payments on time, everytime.

Charlie • 6 years ago

Does anyone know if the money from this has to be declared to HMRC? I only seem to be able to find answers for America rather than UK. Thanks in advance.

Jake Butler • 6 years ago

Hi Charlie, you are supposed to declare your earnings. Obviously as most students won't earn near the yearly tax threshold though it will mean you most likely won't have to pay any tax.

Shirley Luke • 7 years ago

A Jake Butler on 11/05/12 stated that they updated the site. My question is when the last time this site was updated?

Jake Butler • 7 years ago

This page is updated pretty much weekly!

Carlieda • 7 years ago

Anyone know what happened to pinecone research they always paid out.

James Henderson • 7 years ago

By far the best is swagbucks and payment is real quick. Most times i get paid in 48 hours. Been with them now for nearly 1 and 1/2 years. Had been with several uk survey firms thru the years and most r crap, like yougov......it took me 2 years to cash out my £50. so, a complete waste of time with only getting maybe 2 surveys per month from yougov. i earn about 1689 swagbucks points which is equivalent to a £10 payout about every 2 weeks.

Just trying to sign up to Vivatic and trying to sort my paypal out. Does my bank account really need to be linked to my paypal for Vivatic to verify my account? I don't really use/understand paypal.

Thanks

Jake Butler • 8 years ago

You will need to have a valid Paypal account to receive payments and this may require you to link your bank account in order to take payments from Paypal. This is not really an issue though as Paypal is a trusted site and extremely safe.

Daniel • 8 years ago

Hi Jake, I was just wondering what kind of paypal account should I sign up for? The buying or receiving account? The receiving account is for businesses so i'm quit confuse

Jake Butler • 8 years ago

You can use a standard buying one.

Lara • 8 years ago

hi Jake,

does paypal charge fees when you receive money from these paying surveys?

Jake Butler • 8 years ago

It shouldn't do Lara.

syafiq recon • 8 years ago

hey , Jake
Sometimes i realy hate with Toluna because it will screened out you from the survey if you are not their target groups, so it's hard for me to gain points. So, any advice for me?
By the way , Yougov is a great online survey site although it offer a little amount of points for every single surveys.

Jake Butler • 8 years ago

Toluna can take time but you should be eligible for surveys every now and then.

Gina • 8 years ago

So thankful for this round-up of all the sites! It's very helpful to compare them, thank you! Sometimes I'm not sure it's worth the time, but I may as well have a go.

Liz Barron • 8 years ago

Thank you so much for this info - saves trawling through loads of websites to get info. Appreciate your time and effort. Thanks again to all those involved in setting up and maintaining this website.

Yes, the articles need updating. Pinecone have changed their terms etc and now reward with vouchers, goods etc which is a disappointment. There was an option to continue with cash payments when they started to change, but this seems to have stopped. You have to earn quite a few points before you can get any decent rewards.

I emailed them stating I wish to continue with cash payments, which is why I joined them in the first place. They kindly sent the £33 I had earned but I'm not sure as I can continue with this in the future, as the pay in cash option has vanished. It might be worth your while contacting them to clarify things. I've also noticed a huge drop in the amount of surveys to my inbox as well now, with only a few 'profile questions'.

Gifts and vouchers do not work for me and need to earn cash. I'm not a student (I'm middle aged with a brain tumour which cost me a 32 year career as a nurse) and need to supplement my small pension.

It makes me sad that Pinecone have now joined other companies with this 'points for goods' system and am considering cancelling my membership.

Katherine De Riera • 7 years ago

You can still cash out if you go into the gift option in the list of rewards you'll see cash payment there

Megan • 9 years ago

I'm 13. Am I allowed to join these websites?

goutham • 7 years ago

yes

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Unfortunately the majority of these sites pay to your Paypal account. You need to be 18 in order to set one up.

Mariyam • 9 years ago

I'm having trouble getting started at swagbucks!!
Is there another thing that anyone would like to reccomend to me?

Im a first timer ... kinda scared :(

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hey Mariyam, it's best just to sign up and then choose the activities that you feel comfortable doing (eg. answering surveys or watching videos). Over time you'll get better at knowing what earns you the most points and what you enjoy.

Yasin Shah • 9 years ago

Hi Jake,

Do any of the above sites offer a cash service into paypal?

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hi Yasin, around half of the survey sites pay into Paypal. It's worth checking with each.

Sophie • 9 years ago

Yougov is amazing. They don't bombard you with surveys, but yet there is enough. The website is the best I have been on for ease of access. It does take a while to get £50 but it is well worth it when it arrives!

Shahryar • 6 years ago

OBVIOUSLY Yougov is very good site

Noel • 7 years ago

Luv my You gov:-)

Kaytiee • 9 years ago

Also, Toluna is repeatedly telling me my email address is invalid..

Kaytiee • 9 years ago

Hi,
I am having some problems with the Opinion Panel which is a shame as everyone else seems to love it. I have signed up and done the joining survey, but every time I try to log in, it simply tells me to log in again... Any advice?? thanks

Annabel • 8 years ago

Hi,
I had a similar problem with the Opinion Panel, and I'd somehow added two email addresses and it wouldn't let me log in on the old email address. If this might have happened to you, check both emails for messages from them, or try logging in on the other email address :)
Hope this helps

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hi Katie, I'm not sure why this would be happening. The guys at Opinion Panel are usually pretty helpful so I'd suggest contacting them.

Alan • 9 years ago

does it mean the online survey services only run in the UK

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hi Alan, the majority of them are for UK residents only I'm afraid.

Sam • 9 years ago

If you dont mind me adding another site thats pretty awesome for younger peers that love music. If you have lots of time, and really love listening to music you love, and really want to challenge the level of your music sense, listen to music and make money writing reviews! try [SlicethePie], safe but doesn't pay as much and a bit time consuming to start out with for making money, they pay about 5 to 30 cents per song review depending on the quality and relativity of your review.

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hi Sam, cheers for the suggestion. We actually have a full guide on how to make money from SlicethePie here: http://www.savethestudent.o...

Jake :)

Jeremy • 9 years ago

Trying to sign up on pineconeresearch, what is locality name?

Jake Butler • 9 years ago

Hi Jeremy, just put your town/city as the locality.

Paz • 10 years ago

Do you have any recommendations for students outside UK and US?

Jake Butler • 10 years ago

Hi Paz,

Unfortunately these survey sites were researched for the UK.

We may look into international survey sites as a future post though.

Alternatively, have you looked into "overplay VPN"? You can redirect your IP to a UK one and then fill out the surveys.

Hope this helps.

Jake.

Paz • 10 years ago

Yeah. I think that would be helpful if you research websites for global acquisition too.

That is a pretty good idea. I will definitely try that out. Thanks. :D

Adele • 10 years ago

I use Toluna and it takes forever to accumulate points, as they are only credited once the survey is closed. However, they give you lots of chances to do surveys so if you are screened out of one, you can try your luck at another 2 or 3. Good for those who believe 'patience is a virtue'.

I agree with Martina; The Opinion Panel is great, especially for students applying to/styding at University. They give you a £1 Bonusbond voucher for every survey completed, which can be used in loads of high street shops and online.

Jake Butler • 10 years ago

Hi Adele,

Great advice!

I agree that you definitely need to sign up to a few to really start earning some good money.

When I was at uni I made about £500 a year from surveys which was a great help when it came to Christmas...
