The way this article asserts that people have "crossover fatigue" when the biggest movie coming soon is the very definition of a crossover & is hot BECUZ it's crossing over 2 beloved characters makes me feel like the writer is out of touch with mainstream appeal there lol..(Deadpool & Wolverine.) And people miss their team-ups like the Avengers... Also, saying that becuz it'll likely take place in the 60s leaves it out of "crossover" reach is silly, I mean let's be real, it'll likely take place in a retrofuturistic 1960s, and then either in the 3rd act or post-credits, the TVA will show up & bring them to present day so they can be part of the core teams.... People don't hats crossovers at all, they dislike ones with people they don't care about. But they EXPECT them for any "COOL" characters... No team or hero in the MCU can exist in isolation if they wanna have relevance in the "Big Game." It's been part of COMIC BOOKS forever, & is part of what draws people. People would be more likely to go see a "Thor & Hulk" team up "buddy cop" flick lol, & would like a Wanda resurrection movie even more if Strange showed up to work out their differences, where in the world do u get it that people don't want their interconnected universe to be connected. They show up just for cameos! - Now having said all that, an origin story or introduction movie for a hero/team into the MCU probably shouldn't be a crossover. The birth of this universe came from establishing IronMan's origin story first, (with a Fury teaser at end,) then Cap.. (with Fury teaser at end,) etc etc... - But once introduced, they aren't expected to stay isolated. (Also, the origin stories from the OG comics were so well written that if adapted well they're part of why we fell in love...) So this Fantastic Four movie likely won't be a crossover (& shouldn't be,) but the idea that the setting prohibits it in the future & that thats a good thing doesn't track. Whatever multiverse variant this team is from where it's a retro-future 60s is great for them to establish themselves for this movie, but later if Strange can never call up Reed or Hulk can never have comic relief with Thing, it wouldn't be much of a comic universe, would it.

Looks promising and cast looks pretty good. But Ralph Ineson? As Galactus? Not sure how that's going to work. Is he cast as a villain (again) simply because he has an English (well, Yorkshire) accent (again). Why do film-makers still think it's ok to do the old 'English-accent-equals-villain' routine? Ditch the cliches, please.
