One certainly shouldn't do this everywhere, but trying to do it everywhere teaches a lot of valuable stuff about design. Most people most of the time would benefit from doing it more, and anyone who hasn't had the experience would benefit from trying to do it too much. And if I'm going to overdo it on both, I'd much rather overdo it on C&C tests than on integrated tests. The former leads to symptoms (and surfaces problems) that I simply can't ignore.
