Hey Trace Atkins, how do you feel about your hero Donald J Trump?

siesmann • 7 months ago

The Orange has never served in the army; none of his family has. And he has no soul to appreciate the sacrifice of others.

CJ179 • 7 months ago

One of the smartest people in years to step into politics. It’s unfortunate that people will judge him, and therefore not vote for him based on his orientation.

andrew • 7 months ago

Buttigieg's comment about Trump's loathsome comment about not bringing a seriously wounded warrior to a public event was awesome.

Libby Beck • 7 months ago

I want someone currently serving in the military to tell us how they can support this kind of thing currently running for president. Anyone out there willing to speak up?

As an army brat and anti war demonstrator in the 60's and 70's, and having lost classmates and a finace' in Viet Nam, I really would like to hear how your thinking goes.

Czarjak • 7 months ago

How about retired career military like my Cuz? Unwavering in his support for some dumb reason. (Just hates Dems)

Not the party, the man.

Staid Winnow 🔎👽🔍 • 7 months ago

Veterans voted for 2:1 in 2016.
They voted 3:2 in 2020.

If Buttigieg ran against Trump, veterans will likely prefer Trump.

Depressing.

Life without parole, as soon as possible. If this poor excuse for a human does not lose all his wealth including his kid's wealth and NOT die in prison, it will be a travesty of justice. Also, all of his pardons for people who committed crimes to help him politically should be rescinded immediately. Pardons should all go through the pardon process.

Future President Pete! You got to love this smart, educated, dedicated gay vet!

Mama Bear • 7 months ago

Amen!

lisamanv . • 7 months ago

He was my pick for president in 2020, I hope he runs again.

Keets28 • 7 months ago

The way this country is now, it doesn't deserve Pete. He's too good, too honest, too patriotic, and too intelligent...but yes, Pete for Prez any day!

Ian Bresett-McCormick • 7 months ago

He needs to move on from Transportation Secretary though at the start of the next term, if he ever hopes to have the inner working street cred to run for POTUS again. But yeah, he'd definitely have my vote too.

How 'bout a Senate run in MI (where he and Chasten now live) when Debbie Stabenow retires?

Woke AF • 7 months ago

Can we PLEASE finally say that Trump is literally the worst fucking person in the world to ever sit in the White House?

buzzenup • 7 months ago

Oh yes, and the history books will agree with you.

Mama Bear • 7 months ago

"Trump is literally the worst fucking person in the world to ever sit in the White House!" And I might add....the worst fucking person to be alive!

Trump is one of the most shallow, superficial men who have ever lived. He views disabilities and other imperfections as weaknesses that make people unworthy of his respect. He doesn’t see the sacrifices people have made. He just sees them as “suckers and losers.”

andrew • 7 months ago

Remember what he said about John McCain: "He's not a war hero." "I like people who weren't captured."
Remember how he mocked a reporter with a disability.
Trump is a seriously flawed human being.

Raine Smithe • 7 months ago

The sad and scary thing is that is exactly why his people love him, because they can openly admit to all their noxious beliefs. He’s legitimized their hatred and disdain for others.

I am reminded of a story early on in the Tiny Hands Man’s administration. Following an event at Arlington National Cemetery, he looked out at the row upon row of gravestones and remarked to his then Chief of Staff General John Kelly, “I don’t get it”.

General Kelly who lost a son in service in Afghanistan and buried his son in that very cemetery, asked in return what he did not understand.

He replied “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”

Incredulous, General Kelly explained their sacrifice was in service to the United States, to defend it, its principles, its national interests, and in many cases to free oppressed peoples.

Unmoved, Tiny Hands Man remarked that if that was the case they “were all a bunch of suckers and losers”.

Compare and contrast….

George W Bush in his second term, the US mired in two battlefields (one of his own making), and deeply unpopular both at home and abroad, attended a similar event at Arlington. Following he asked to be brought to the newest section of the cemetery where the war dead of 9/11, Afghanistan, and the Second Iraq War were laid to rest. Shedding his Secret Service detail and minders, he quietly, slowly, and respectfully walked among the ordered markers, pausing occasionally to read them. Similar stories have Obama making that same reverential visits. Presidents taking pause to personally reflect upon the heavy responsibility that their very orders led to the deaths of those young men and women.

John Crandell • 7 months ago

I seriously think that John Wayne would have hauled off and punched the bastard, knocked him out solid.

Libby Beck • 7 months ago

My father is buried in Arlington National Cemetery and at the time I was disgusted that feeling has only deepened and djt is loathsome.

Woke AF • 7 months ago

He also didn't understand what Pearl Harbor was about and why it's so significant to American history.

Seriously.

There were people back in the day...(Lord, 2015 seems so long ago)...that were saying, " I think Trump being president would be funny." Well...let's take this humor to another level...Trump being in jail would be hilarious.

I just saw a bumper sticker, "Blue Star Mothers For Trump." Is that a real thing?

Why with Trump's comments?

ErnestineBass • 7 months ago

I doubt many of those Blue Star mothers would still be supporting Trump had they achieved Gold Star status during his "rain of error".

Gary • 7 months ago

How any veteran can support that SOB is beyond me, "losers an suckers" or "why should I go to that cemetery? It's filled with losers" when he was suppose to visit Aisne-Marne American Cemetary to visit fallen soldiers. And who could forget what he said about Sen. McCain "He's not a war hero, I like soldiers who weren't captured"
Trump wouldn't last five minutes of what McCain went through, trump would've given up anything the enemy wanted to know, he would want to be paid for it, but one slap in the mouth and he'd sing like a canary.

Catfish John • 7 months ago

many, many veterans are racist. it boils down to that,

John Crandell • 7 months ago

And there are too many pro-Jabba racists on active duty in the Air Force.

Raymond D Hedrick • 7 months ago

They remind him he is a cowardly asshole with no idea of something more important than himself, his Vietnam was trying to avoid VD. He has no values , no morals all round POS. How any service member or veteran could back this traitorous man child (at 77yrs). We need a real rethinking of our society if our most vaunted institutions put out the likes like Cruz, Flynn, Barr, Eastman,Jordon , and to many other to list.

Captain America • 7 months ago

Trump "uncomfortable"? or feeling GUILTY?

Tinstaafl • 7 months ago

He has no sense of guilt. His only concern is how a bad or uncomfortable show might reflect on himself.

NellCote71 • 7 months ago

He doesn’t know guilt, has never felt it. It all about the optics. He equates leadership with reading a script for a TV show.

Well and good, but I think American presidents need to keep us out of conflicts. It is sick to seen young men and women to places they should not be, have them return with PTSD, maimed, just to preserve empire. No foreign entanglements said President George Washington. We do not seek monsters to destroy said John Quincy Adams. Beware of the untold power of the MIC said President Eisenhower (General, Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force).

Cappy Dick • 7 months ago

So no foreign entanglements then? I guess we should just let Putin have Europe?

MEW • 7 months ago

And China, Taiwan. Plus, Biden hasn't put a single American soldier into the Ukraine. We should be happy as hell just to send Ukraine the Billions they need to keep our kids OUT OF this Russian aggression against a sovereign nation.

nuckinfuts • 7 months ago

Yes!

Republicans only "support the troops" when they sent them off to go liquify some brown people.

Once they came back, assuming they survive, with their broken souls and bodies, it's "FUCK YOU!"

Trump has no respect for anyone, and lacks the ability to have empathy. It was beyond his comprehension how the fallen soldiers at Arlington could be so stupid to join, and even said it to Gen. Kelly who had lost is own son in battle. He also has so little respect for our government, he wrote to do lists on the backs of cards that were marked confidential. And sure he was trying to figure out how to use the ones he had stolen for his own benefit.

By showing what war does to soldiers, Trump denies the results for thousands upon thousands of wounded warriors and what their lives are like. It’s reprehensible and definitely repugnant this so call leader doesn’t want to see or be around these heroes. If he doesn’t want to see the effects of war, don’t send men & women to war.
