FWIW, the same number is needed for the vaccine: 70% of the people vaccinated. The US would need 70% of the people to have either taken the vaccine or to have been infected (assuming both impart ongoing immunity). I am not an immunologist, but if the vaccines are 90% reliable, then the we'd actually need 78% to achieve herd immunity.
