Can anyone shed light on his ailment? A horse can live without eyes. Did they put him down because his eyes (eye sight) are gone? Give him a nice paddock with a friend and human help and he should be able to survive. I think?

"A horse without eyes"? Not sure about that, BP. I've never heard of such a thing, but I'd imagine it would be a very difficult for a horse. It's a terrible situation, this. You would think that veterinary science had progressed enough by now to solve the problem of something like laminitis which did for Sunline and the great Secretariat-but no-not even this.
