What an absolute shame, the racing game is a harsh task master

Bit sad to see the shark retire im going to miss him that win in the chipping norton on a big field that was just mind blowing

You'll Never • 3 years ago

Will never forget that

Sutto • 3 years ago

Same I remember on that day I had a double alligator blood in Melbourne into the shark was a great day punting

Vivienne • 3 years ago

Happy retirement TAS.

Macwaikato • 3 years ago

Such a shame. Being a gelding I was looking forward to seeing what this fella could show us in the next couple of years. Enjoy retirement TAS.

You'll Never • 3 years ago

Just bloody shocked. Have a good retirement mate

Punter@work • 3 years ago

Quite overrated in my opinion.

domino • 3 years ago

14 starts, Gr1 on both sides of the Tasman, 1.5mill earnings and twice Gr1 placed including Cox Plate. If that's overrated, maybe you're the one overrated. Goose

Calm down domino. Just because we have differing opinions no need for insults.

Gosh, poor boy has been through the wars health wise. Thanks for the great memories. Time now to hang up the shoes. Best wishes for a happy retirement TAS. ā™„ļøšŸŽšŸ‘šŸ»

The Chipping Norton win was one of the best this year

The Punting Eel • 3 years ago

Hoping TAS has no further health issues and can enjoy a long and comfortable retirement. Both his NZ and Aust records are something connections can continue to be proud of. Plenty of great memories and replays to enjoy Iā€™m sure.

Very unfortunate to all connected for this guy to have a relative short career. He might end up rubbing brands with SAL.Good luck buddy for an ailment free future.

Sad that he wont be back, a very good horse, but I don't think it was a shock for Te Akau. Any procedure involving the eye can result in complications etc. You can see in the photo above how red the white of his right eye was. Recurring Uveitis is fraught with problems.
Just hope he is without pain and possibly the problem can be managed more effectively now he is not racing. Sure he and Gingernuts will get on sharing a paddock.

'Managed' wreaks of more expense, Can't we just put sunglasses under his blinkers? That would shade his sensitive eyes, block the wind. Then he
is racing again an can pay for some of that 'managed' care. No better he
should be kept on the farm till he can read a newspaper. I debated joking about
this serious matter, but I lost the debate and hit post. Wish him the best.

Van • 3 years ago

Oh yeah, well maybe the debate is not the only action you have lost! But seriously, good that you "wish him the best."

Vivienne • 3 years ago

Two good lookers there.
