INEC have simply postponed the burial owambe for the rejected APC-led govts nationwide... but, their Nunc Dimitis is already being chorused loud and clear, certainly, someone I know will dance to Govt. House in Osogbo. Lol!

Kickboxer • 5 years ago

Remember the rerun would be in just seven polling units....do you smell security agencies harassing residents on the the polling units and APC buying votes of those who wouldn't want to be harassed?

ed • 5 years ago

Democratic system of government election void votes are discounted therefore should hadn’t have had any consideration on the valid votes.
INEC and Nigerian Nomadic Fulani’s Military constitutions in use in Nigeria 🇳🇬 election has nothing to do with free and fair election.
When something is deemed invalid it discarded period.
We’re having a rerun based on invalid votes?
The soul of the nation has disappeared.
Adeleke won the election.

Kickboxer • 5 years ago

It is crazy to say the least. Votes that got cancelled would be rerun even though there was a clear winner, even by a couple hundred votes. Our system is rigged right and center. What the Jihadists and their external sponsors did with Nigeria was not only to RIG the super structure (number states and local govt. areas) but subsystems of the Nigeria's super structure all in an effort to perpetuate their incompetent selves in power.

PDP must mobilize Nigerians to fight back to stop all the nonsenses. Using different rigging/illegal waysAPC stole Edo, Ekiti and now have stolen Osun. It is either PDP disband or fight back. Our mandates can no longer be allowed to be toyed with. Enough already.

THEARGUMENTATOR • 5 years ago

APC definitely didn’t steal any vote initially and they are not going to start now. Be sure of what you say. God bless Nigeria

No chance for stopping vote buying but, more scrutiny will apply since all eyes will be focused on INEC and the vote-tearers. LoL! Me still see in my mirror maharajah, a certain fat fellow that I know dancing to Osogbo with half of the town cheering behind him. Different colors, different deckings of gele, band & brass, folks of all ages, electrifyingly welcoming the dancer into a large acropolis. Trust me, that's what will happen in Osogbo near Ife, not Ogbomoso... L😂L!!!

Prisoner of Conscience • 5 years ago

The rerun would have been easy for either party if they reach a deal with Omisore to sway SDP voters, but time is too short for that and the only way either parties will go about victory is monetising the process,i.e vote buying. But I see APC closing it out in the end because incumbents hardly ever lose a re-run

Nwa_Africa • 5 years ago

Rerun is for 2 parties so Omisore have nothing to do with it

Prisoner of Conscience • 5 years ago

Aaah Omisore's SDP has a lot to Di with it fellow. He came 3rd with 150k plus votes. Do you think those votes that were cancelled that led to this re-run were for APC and PDP alone?,SDP votes were cancelled to. IF SDP happen to collapse its structure into APC or PDP, those SDP votes will go into the new party.Had the PDP and SDP come together and made a power sharing like PDP-Gov,SDP-Dep,for example, they would have trashed APC

It is easier for Omisore to strike a deal with Adeleke/PDP than with Tunubu, Aregbe/APC. Reason being that PDP being his former party and SPD and PDP being part of merger of CUPP, he can easily be convince to support PDP by his party than supporting APC he being a sworn enemy of Tunubu and Aregbesola that do referred him as a murderer even during this present election campaign. Secondly, being OBJ boy, OBJ can easily talk to him to support Adeleke if OBJ is persuaded to do so rather than convincing him to support Tunubu/APC that has called him all sorts of printed names recently.

Well,it's true its an open seat but seeing how out going governors always want their preferred candidates to win,its still as if they are going for a third term with the way they use everything at their disposal to campaign and all

Its a shame that after 8 years of APC and Aregbesola APC and an incumbent cannot win even his hometown Ilesha. His people have rejected him. This is an indictment on Tinubu's politics and stale brand of progressive governance. In Ekiti the election was close. In Osun APC is playing catch up and will likely lose the rerun no matter how much money they throw at Omisore and the Great noble people of Ife. Clearly this is sign that APC will lose the South West, will lose Lagos will all this Tinubu godfather playing nonesense, lose Kano with Kwankwanso and SLS factor, lose the South East, lose PH, lose the middle belt and lose the general election. This result no matter the outcome just emboldened the opposition and is a clear statement that APC has failed to convince the most progressive part of Nigeria and Nigerians. In general this government and its brand of nepotism, religious extremists and backward looking selfish cabal is on its death bed. Humpty Dumpty social media warriors are silent. They can't help PMB. They can't put APC together to win again. The train has left the station.

Where is Nigeriamovingforwad and the rest of the APC area boys that are telling us that Adeleke will come 4th.

Nigeriamovingforward • 5 years ago

I dey here campe.......Closer than expected but PDP will still loose on Thursday. The re run is in APC and SDP territories - Ife North and South and Oshogbo .It is only in one of the places that PDP prevailed . Pdp paid for votes in EDE and other places and APC will need to do the same for Thursday.

This APC controlled INEC are so predictable. When APC is winning the winner is declared but when PDP give APC a trashing as Adeleke obviously did in Osun the biased umpire declares it inconclusive. Now we know why INEC was withholding announcing Oshogbo result. This is a pointer to what to expect in 2019; Nigeria facing ominous days ahead.

true9jalways • 5 years ago

The level of your self inflicted poverty is so much that u can not afford to buy a satellite TV or to subscribe for data on your phone, that's why u couldn't monitor the very transparent election of Osun State. Let me educate u, the reason why the announcement was delayed at a time was that, one PDP agent disagreed with the calculation of the Osogbo L.G result therefore INEC decided to go back to the result sheets from each polling unit and recalculated. If u are not capable to acquire necessary tools for information, try and ask your neighbors for news update instead of coming online and say rubbish bcos somebody shared his WiFi for your phone.

Story! Story!! Story!!! The INEC which we all know is a die-in-the-wood manipulator have all of a sudden started listening and acting on complaints from the opposition, really? Abeg go recharge your credit for you will have a lot of explaining to do to justify what is a daylight robbery on the part of Buhari's INEC. You must think everyone is as daft as you; sorry son, not me. Joker.

ed • 5 years ago

Don’t worry about the low lifers.
INEC official was caught red handed shredding the original results, he then made false entries to the results sheet in favour of APC.
Only God knows how many instances that INEC made the same fraudulent attempt.

Lol .. You really finished the ignoramus

Kickboxer • 5 years ago

Exactly... using different tactics APC stole Edo, Ekiti and now Osun. PDP should disband or devise a way to stop APC from stealing their mandate.

Buhari and APC have destroyed our democracy that took 16 yrs to nurture. Any rerun is a charade. That's what it is. We congratulate Adeleke for his VICTORY. He won hands down.

ed • 5 years ago

That’s the truth. PDP should go to court to protect the original results from the wards and the votes.
President Buhari’s family and Kinsman INEC can’t be in charge of the election period.
Unfortunately we didn’t want to deal with the elephant in the room.

Please correct the error, the two candidates did not have the same scores.

bolly • 5 years ago

254,698 What is the problem of Punch. They were so confusing. Punch said Adeleke of PDP scored 254,698 while Gboyega oyetola of APC scored the Sam margin 254,698, which is different to INEC result. Pls somebody should confirm

Guest • 5 years ago
Nwa_Africa • 5 years ago

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke ‎scored 25698, while the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola scored 256345. ....................Result posted by vanguard.....................So who is correct between Punch and Vanguard?

ed • 5 years ago

You should correct your post first.
You had typographical error with 5 digits or 5 figures for Adeleke.

Nwa_Africa • 5 years ago

It is not me but vanguard that wrote it and I copy.........................

sao • 5 years ago

"The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, had polled 254,698 votes to defeat that of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, who polled 254,698 votes."

Punch please help me. I don't understand the message here.

Osanebi Osakuni • 5 years ago

INEC has made APC more dishonourable in loss. Results are rarely cancelled where APC is strong, they lost woefully in Ife so it is left for Adekeke to do a deal with Omisore as most of the elections are in his domain. Big shame!

Guest • 5 years ago
Osanebi Osakuni • 5 years ago

Hahahaha! You still have hope even when an INEC officer has admitted reducing Adeleke's result by 1000. Those is an even Omisore's area and not APC's. Propaganda has been defeated.
