This script rules. Thank you!
Thanks for this. Combined with this script (http://dougscripts.com/itun..., which trims characters from the front or back of the track name (and other fields), it saved me a lot of time reformatting.
tests time mashine
Thanks very much!
thanks
Anyone any idea how to do this in the Windows version of iTunes?
Thanks!
This saved my life.
I was just about to number all my files by hand when I gave google a last chance to sort this out....
Great job!!!
(I'm still wondering why the folks at apple haven't thought of that themselves..)
i'd really like to know how to do this eith windows based itunes. i have bunch of albums that do not have tracknumbers in ID.
I notice that it also sets the track number in the 'name' field - any way to avoid this?
sexy script. thanks.
Awesome! I've added this page to StumbleUpon in the hope that it will solve this problem for others too!
Heheh. This script is awesome. Thank you!
THANK YOU!
Good stuff, thanks
I just watched a 50 track album sort itself perfectly, probably the most satisfying thing i've done all week. thank you so much!
Thanks!! :-)
I love you dude. Thanks alot!
Henrik - just a note that some of the paths are wrong nowadays, e.g., this script is several "uploads" folders below the one pointed at.
Oh, you're right, thank you! The link to the script broke when I moved the blog to a new hosting solution.
It should be fixed now.
wonderful script, so useful, brilliant!
I'd really love to edit this script if possible - I have many music files that I've created as song name then a _ then artist name. If I could modify the script to use a conditional IF to separate the two and write artist name, too, that would be wonderful. If there is any chance of you sharing the script code I would be so grateful.
best wishes and thanks,
paul
Paul, I can't promise to do this since it might be a bit more effort than I'm willing to invest, but if you could clarify what you're after I'll see if it's something I can do quickly.
Are you saying that you have file names like "my song_my artist.mp3" and you want "my artist" to be assigned as the artist?
Brilliant! script very nicely copied track numbers from the files names for about 2000 songs that I had ripped into ogg files from my CD's. Thanks!
