So, here's a Russian source claiming 16,000 deaths and 300 pieces of armor to take Avdiivka, which would be roughly one dead Russian for every 2-3 feet of advance. This doesn't include wounded, of course. It is remarkable that Russia is willing to absorb these sorts of losses for Putin's vision of an empire (and the oligarch's access to mines and whatnot).

We made another batch of (very) experimental fudge last night, using Milk, sugar, and peach gelatin. Came out decent enough, the peach isn't an "expected" flavor so its a bit weird. It set just fine and validates my "base sugar fudge" recipe; I think. Shows I have finally got a grasp of the physics and chemistry at work in the pot as we do this.

Staying out in the cold kitchen for the full hour making that was harsh tho. I'm feeling like im breathing through a straw this morning; having to time breaths and spitting so as not to cross the streams. Waking up tired from the effort of breathing aint a good place to be.

You just re-invented blancmange, made w/ almond milk, sugar & gelatin, per the Joy of Cooking. Typically served with fruit.

No almond, and this set harder than store fudge. Also "Joy of Cooking" waffles on about "don't stir the syrup" which is a sure method of burning stuff, we found.
