This is great! We went to Lisbon last year and ever since I've known that we need to make it to the north. This is an awesome list and I hope that one day we'll get to do all of them. It's kind of surprising how since unknown that area is, I feel that it will be getting super popular soon!

Dear Jessica, many thanks for your sweet comment. I absolutely love Lisbon, it's one of my favourite cities in Europe. The northern part of Portugal is still no that much explored, but it holds so many hidden gems and the food is so tasty. I can totally recommend it.

Hey Paulina!

I have a feeling this is where I'll experience the best tasting wine! Now I understand why Northern Portugal is every blogger's favorite. The sights are awesome and the buildings are pretty. I just love their vibrant colors.

Dear Emily, many thanks for your kind comment. Northern is a gorgeous natural gem... you' gonna love it! I am not an expert in wine tasting but port wine is some of the best ones I have had. Do you already have travel plans to visit Northern Portugal?

Hi Paulina, after reading your blog entry, yes! :)

I was in Portugal for two weeks and I still have so much to explore! I can't wait to get back to Portugal...hopefully in the near future.

Many thanks for your sweet comment. Portugal is always a good idea... and there's always something new to be explored. What was your favourite part? Have you been to the north?

I only went to Porto and Lisbon. Lisbon was definitely my favorite!!

I loved Portugal so much. I am happy to say I did check a few places on your list. I did a roadtrip through Portugal a few years ago, pre blogging days. It is one of my favorite countries in the world. Your post brought so many memories back!

Paulina On the road • 6 years ago

Oh yes it's also one of my favourite countries to visit.... people are so kind, food is amazing and the landscapes are breathtaking. What was your favourite place to visit in the North?
What a casuality... I've also visited Portugal in my pre-blogging days, like 10 years ago.... It was one of my first long trips abroad :)

I liked Porto... got drunk after a Porto wine test, because me and my friend didn't eat before, and we were fresh off the road :)) Aveiro was nice and colorful, Coimbra was also very nice and the beach in Nazare

Paulina On the road • 6 years ago

Hahaha what a fun story :) I have to visit Aveiro and Nazare the next time I go back to Portugal.

I've only ever visited the south of Portugal - wow, I had no idea there was so much to do and such beautiful sights in the north! And with it being so affordable, this is definitely somewhere I need to add to my travel list. Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks for your kind comment. The south of Portugal is gorgeous too! I love the sandy beaches of Algarve, but the north has something gorgeous as well. I love the food and Douro valley is absolutely gorgeous.

I've only had a layover in Portugal briefly but it was so nice. I absolutely loved the vibe there. Can't wait to go back one day. Love your blog! It's so cute and colorful!

Many thanks for your sweet comment. I am so in love with the Portuguese vibe as well. And the food is the best. The Northern part of the country is still not that touristy, thus it's a great destination for explorers. I can only recommend it :)
