Clegg is an absolute Dick - a manifesto for Brexit????
It was a simple yes or no on membership, we were told using £9 million of tax payers money on a leaflet sent to every household - a vote to leave meant leaving the single market.
What a lying POS he is.

Captain Cook • 6 years ago

These weasels are trying to retrofit caveats to a simple binary question because the answer wasn't the one they wanted.

Smoke and mirrors, the fascists favourite since 1933.

David Bickenson • 6 years ago

The Germans call it "Nacht und Nebel" - night and fog and Merkel is still using it.

Dreary Steeple • 6 years ago

It's worse than that, he is a toxic POS.

Nockian • 6 years ago

Clegg is one of those politicians who doesn't accept the premise of any argument. He epitomises the phrase 'that might be true for you, but not for me'.

Guest • 6 years ago

An expensive piece of propaganda which he had a hand in producing, the asswipe.

IDrinkAndIKnowThings • 6 years ago

They've lost the argument on the 'single market' & the CU so next up is that there was no manifesto - from a cross-party supporting a leave vote who would be reliant on the Govt of the day enabling the decision reached to be implemented. The man is desperate.
I see that no-one has asked the limpdums, who want a final vote on the deal & if we don't like it we remain, that remain is 'just a direction & not a destination & to explain that destination...

Nockian • 6 years ago

Exactly. How could there have been a manifesto ? it wasn't a party, but a movement. That's why the question was stated very simply. Do you want it or not ? The people answered 'not' and TPTB are still trying to recover from the shock of discovering that they don't control everything and effectively telling the leave voters that they are confused idiots, biggots and every other insult available.

Desperation makes fools of politicians.

RiffRaff • 6 years ago

The mistake he makes is assuming people are stupid. Thing is, they aren't generally. They'll see clips of this or read it in papers or online and they'll quickly come to the conclusion that he is a grade A berk who hasn't got a clue.

Guest • 6 years ago

I think if we threatened him with the removal of his lavish pension his memory would suddenly return.

Rog Tallbloke • 6 years ago

That's the point though. He's angling for a job and then an EU pension by toadying for them now.

janetjH • 6 years ago

He's already got an EU pension.

He'd just like to have more power, more money, more privileges and more pension.

Rog Tallbloke • 6 years ago

I heard you lose your EU pension if you don't keep batting for it. Clegg should be forced to wear an 'EU bought and paid for' rosette and hat at every TV appearance.

Yorkman99 • 6 years ago

I think it is only the Lib Dem supporters who are stupid.

Malcolm • 6 years ago

Clegg represents the most dangerous type of politician because he oozes charm and gives the appearance of being a reasonable person. In fact he has always been a mendacious hypocrite who, like most so-called liberals, will say or do anything to achieve power and will never admit fault even when exposed like this. He reminds me of Macron because they are like two peas in a pod and if he said today was Tuesday I would demand a calendar to check. It is a great shame that these interviews do not reach a wider audience, limited as they tend to be to political geeks rather than the average viewer, so that it would ram home the message that these snakes simply cannot be trusted.

Frank • 6 years ago

Clegg reminds me of lots of management consultants, they have all the advice but none of them will be there when the sh1t hits the fan as a result of their advice.

Well said.

Nigel put him straight!

Roger Hudson • 6 years ago

Clegg just stopped short of saying the people were too stupid to understand what they were voting for!
He really is a disgusting fool, I hope the voters of Sheffield shun him this time. I don't want to hear his cant anymore.

peacemaker • 6 years ago

The BBC will keep him in our faces, you may be sure.

Too many people are beating around the bush, engaging him in his lies and delusions, entraining his views....let's just be honest: Nick Clegg is a lying self serving cunt.

MayfairMagFan • 6 years ago

Hey! I'm quite partial to a bit of cunt myself. It's just Nick fucking Clegg who I can't stand.

getahead • 6 years ago

Clegg makes a fool of himself with his silly pleading.

getahead • 6 years ago

I'm still trying to figure out what he means by his complaint that the Leave campaign did not produce a manifesto on terms of leaving.
The Leave campaign's task was to secure the Leave vote.
Job done.
It was the government's job to anticipate a possible withdrawal from the EU and to make appropriate plans.
Cleggster again scratching around for something to complain about.

Tim and the Hidden People • 6 years ago

It was up to his mate "Dave" to draw up plans in the event of a Leave vote. "Dave's" giant ego meant that he did not ever once envisage losing the argument and the Referendum.

The leaflet made it clear. A vote to Leave was a vote to leave the Internal Market, Customs Union, jurisdiction of the European Court and the four "freedoms". That was clear. Various interviews with Boris, Gove, Leadsom, "Dave" and Gideon made this absolutely clear - a vote to Leave was just that.

No matter what Clegg or his vile little creep McGrory say (watch the clip of Brillo destroying him and his lies, more of this later), we voted out.

This is what a normal person calls Brexit. This is not "hard" Brexit, nor "Extreme" Brexit but Brexit (clean Brexit if you like).

To stay within the Internal Market is not Brexit, it is not "soft" Brexit either. It is called Remaining in the EU, simples.

They use such harsh words like "crash", "hard" and "extreme" when describing Brexit to make it sound really dangerous. It is not. This country was prosperous before the EU and will be after.

There will be bumps in the road, as with anything, but the spirit and ingenuity of the British people will see us through.

I still contend that the only reason we joined the Common Market was because the country was on it's knees after the politicians effectively handed over governance of the country to the Trade Unions. We needed a way out, and were promised a land of milk and honey via the Common Market.

I also contend that had Margaret Thatcher been PM ten years earlier then there is a real possibility we might never have signed up.

Back to McGrory, check out Brillo destroying him and his video on YouTube. Basically McGrory and his chums edited together a video "proving" the likes of Owen Patterson, Matthew Elliott and Nigel Farage wanted to remain in the Internal Market. The politburo would have been proud. They essentially cut the pieces down so that whilst they talked of staying in the EU the video missed the next bit of, the most salient point - that despite everything, we should not remain in the EU.

autodidact • 6 years ago

Dead right, also Mrs Thatcher was the one instrumental in getting us out of our decline
not the EU.
