This really is a terrific project!
Spares are always a killer in keeping old technology in a serviceable condition.
I wonder if, rather than CNC, the part was done in metal by 3d printing. Would have to deal with part shrinkage, but this apparently is predictable.
I really hope that this project keeps going.
I'd love to participate (recently retired)

Expensive for a camera spare... very cheap for a 1-off custom machined metal part! It's certainly getting interesting...
