I'm trying to do the same thing as Andi. I need student accounts that are part of a "master" account, hence the +1 format. Help please.

Is this no longer a feature on gmail. I tried doing this and it told me I could only use letters, numbers and periods?

Ole Bjørn Michelsen • 12 years ago

I have just tried from both a Gmail and Google Apps account, and I it works fine? However not all websites and e-mail clients will let you enter the plus-sign in an e-mail.

I tried to set up an email account with +1 and the response is...
Please use only letters (a-z), numbers, and periods.
How can I get the + accounts?

Ole Bjørn Michelsen • 12 years ago

You shouldn't create a new account using + signs. If you already have an e-mail account like e.g. "dennis@gmail.com", you can send emails to "dennis+whatever@gmail.com".

I received the same message. I am not allowed to use this feature and I really need it quickly because I'm setting up student accounts. If anyone knows the answer, please let me know asap. Thanks!
