If AARP is against it must be good. These are the same idiots that went all in for obozocare.

SUSAN LINDAUER • 6 years ago

Are Senators really so out of touch they don't know ObamaCare's a disaster???? Guess I answered my own question.

BrassOrchid • 6 years ago

They know. They were very upset when they couldn't afford Obamacare and had no other choices, by law. So they got Obama to get them a subsidy. They have Gold Level ACA plans with no deductibles. The subsidy pays seventy-two percent of all premiums and co-pays.
You can get the same plan they have. But you have to pay for your plan, and for theirs. Aren't you just the lucky one?!

Harold • 6 years ago

Are they really so out of touch that they don't know this plan, as per AARP's assessment, is even worse?
But then again as this would primarily impact old, poor and sick people, we'll see by voting who cares about them.

LaTxGuy • 6 years ago

No fool your Ob Cares was the destruction act and not with the new president he can put in something that does care.

Galveston • 6 years ago

I would like to know more of the details of the plan. I don't trust any Democrat, and I don't trust L. Graham either. Ditto for AARP, for that matter.
As for Medicade, that is pure welfare statism. If it were limited to those actually in need of medical help with no other way of getting treatment, that would be one thing, but Democrats and Rinos apparently want to extend it to as many warm bodies as possible.
So what is the inside story on this bill?

exbobbie • 6 years ago

Well if the AARP are against this plan, there must be something good about it, after all they thought Obamacare was the cat's whiskers.

jimbo • 6 years ago

Yes and as a past member of AARP I never saved a dime on anything,I got things cheaper on my own.AARP top people must make out well from all the people they fool.

atkins • 6 years ago

How about repealing Obamacare - massive, wasteful, government bureaucracy - and letting individuals purchase health insurance as they do auto insurance?

AMERICANPATRIOT • 6 years ago

AARP is nothing more than a lobbyist for United Health (who benefits from Obamacare)...anyone that is a member is supporting this disastrous intrusion in one's personal healthcare decisions!

6Hotelc • 6 years ago

For the past nine years is all I have heard from Congress is repealing Obamacare, well get it done and I'll believe it, when I see it! I sent an email the other day to Senator McConnell telling him to "either ---- or get off the pot"!

tdj89 • 6 years ago

According to Rand Paul this is another attempt at Obamacare lite which changes very little, mostly names and wording, but is essentially a watered down form of ACA. It is not a true repeal. A hoax to make it appear the Rino's did something. He does not support it, I do not support it. And Mitch McConnell needs to get in touch with his constituents. Of which I am one. Politics takes time but the people are tired of being hood winked on healthcare. President Trump claims to listen to the people. So I'll make it simple so their won't be any confusion. REPEAL!!! Nothing else. We can live without being ripped off.

bevo2 • 6 years ago

Simply make obama care the only plan congress is eligible for and it will b repealed tomorrow by a bipartisan vote perhaps even unanimous.

BrassOrchid • 6 years ago

Congress IS under the ACA.
Chuck Grassley made sure of that.
The House and Senate members were so hard hit by it that they got Obama to break a few laws and get them Congressional Welfare so they could afford it.
They have the best plans (Gold Level) with no deductibles. Seventy-two percent of their premiums and copays are handled by you and I because we love and respect them so very, very much, Obama be praised!

Rene • 6 years ago

Bob I agree with you. And by any chance have they addressed the fact how the younger adults and young families pay like $6,000 a year for insurance that has a $5,000 deductible. How does this work. I say if they can't get anything passed make congress and senate get on obamacare. No options, obama care period. Let's see how fast they get something good for everyone.

MaryL • 6 years ago

I look at this as imperfect however, it does succeed in GETTING GOVERNMENT OUT OF HEALTHCARE!!!
Gov't botches everything which is why they can't fix the exiting!

It is the last best chance for the Republicans. If they cannot do this, they will never be able to get Healthcare as a Service again!

bob onit • 6 years ago

if anybody who trusts either party to straighten this out is off the their meds, and then won't be able to afford them afterwards anyway

srmeyer • 6 years ago

" AARP has come out against the plan," aarp= left wingnut lobbyist group duping seniors for profit, making sure the poor stay poor and the stupid stupid, they're easier to control and readily pay extortion taxes.

Bekka • 6 years ago

I am 64, I have been disabled since I was 28. If he goes with Obamacare. People won't be able to afford it. And those that are aging, get very little from SS. As it is, I'm getting a little more than poverty line. My meds, are now over $450.00 a month. I'm not sure how older people like me and people who couldn't afford it before are going to make. My God Bless us All.

McCain enjoys shooting down legislation. It is payback. The Vietnamese shot him down in the Vietnam war

jimbo • 6 years ago

McCain will have to ask the Governor of Arizona what to vote for ,well McCain we elected him Gov. and u the senator.Guess Arizona got u 2 backwords. As for Collins from Maine she is a rat who will sink the ship because it is the only way she can get on National news.Graham is suppose to be best friends with McCain so maybe that will sway him of course McCain turned on his whole party save to others last time.I smell a stinking rat, guess who?

Charles Chang • 6 years ago

McCain shows that he can never be a great national leader, just a mere follower. Now he has to get his governor for directions and instructions.

Greg • 6 years ago

I'm curious as to what cuts would be made to Medicare. They must be horrific to support all of the losses the elderly will suffer. It would be interesting to compare with the cuts to Medicare resulting from ACA.

Diogenes • 6 years ago

ACA takes $72 million a year from Medicare, to pay for State expansion of Medicaid and subsidies for insurance premiums.

Greg • 6 years ago

That's what it takes now. What will be the difference if this new bill be, if passed into law?

Trump would sign ANYTHING, even if it took everyone's healthcare away. He has no idea what these bills represent or how it will affect his own base.

BrassOrchid • 6 years ago

Obama signed ANYTHING, even if it took everyone's healthcare away. He had no idea what these bills represented and didn't care how it would affect the American People.

Bill Meeker • 6 years ago

This may very well be the best plan offered to date, but it only makes the ACA better, it repeals nothing. After eight years of promises, the Republican controlled Congress just cannot keep their promise ... maybe because they fear it supports Trump's agenda.

JC • 6 years ago

This is a lie---Trump nor his administration has said they would sign this legislation if it passed congress---fake news

Travis • 6 years ago

Trump will sign this law. Excuse me, wasn't he the one who said he had a plan to cover everyone better, and cheaper. How would this law do that? Didn't he also say he wouldn't touch Medicaid? This law guts Medicaid. Don't tell me he was making it all up....

tribuneoftheplebes • 6 years ago

The Republicans will get nowhere on Healthcare until the RINO weasel McCain gets taken out og the game.
