Hi! I had a VCR lying around that I used for this. So if you have an old one, use that. I don't think it makes a huge difference which VCR you use. By today's standards the video quality won't be great, and the condition of the VHS tapes will likely have the biggest impact on final quality anyway.

Yeah I ended up buying one for £5 off eBay and it works surprisingly well despite one of the tapes being 25 years old.
Hey there; good to see others are rolling their own digitisation. Did you acquire a VCR for this? Or did you still have one lying around? Its been so long since I've had any awareness of VCR tech and I'm probably overthinking it - do you think it'll make much of a difference which VCR I use to digitise my tapes? I only have 5, but paying £100+ for someone else to do it seems ludicrous.
