This site is 100% scam. If you signup to comment or anything they take your email and phone number, and you never get an account. It is a scam to just try and get your contact information. The only way to contact them about why your account did not get created is to "login" to their chat, which you can't do because they never created your account. TOTAL SCAM SITE.

Dear Gunnut,
We can't call sites scam only because they ask the email address to register. Even the reputed sites like Facebook ask email and phone number. But, yep, there are other problems in Steemit about which we have mentioned in our review as above.

Very disappointed with this site. I can no longer log in, say my password is wrong. Won't even let me make another user name...Not happy at all!!!!

Dear Angela,
Have you tried to contact the support team of Steemit to report your problem?

I met someone online that is making a full time income from this site. So it is possible. You can make a lot and the sky is limit. At least you are not bashing this opportunity just to get people into WA. Other members do that and it's not good.

Devon • 6 years ago

Yep, there are some people who just bash even the legit opportunities just to get the people to WA. But, we don't do that. We just provide the fact so that people can decide on their own. However, that doesn't mean WA is bad or WA is teaching them to do that. There are also some reviews which are bashing WA and blaming WA for that. But, it is some people who are doing that to get the referral in WA, it is not WA who is teaching them to do that.

Whether it's a scam or not, I'm not giving these people my phone number, regardless of their reasons for demanding it, at this point in time.

I started opening a Steemit account, because Caitlin Johnstone has a presence there. But after seeing the phone number requirement, they can go to hell.

Devon • 6 years ago

That is completely up to you to decide. But, we don't think it is too much bad to submit the phone number. However, it is danger to submit your credit card or bank details.

Hi NOI,

I'll pass on Steemit. Some social media outlets asked for my phone number, but so far nobody demanded it. Like you said, it's up to everyone to decide how much information they wish to share, but I don't like this precedent.

I'm not on Steemit to make money. I just want to read and sometimes comment on Caitlin Johnstone's articles.

Devon • 6 years ago

Yep, it's individual choice. If you don't like to share your phone number, then don't join Steemit. There are many alternatives for social media as well as to make money online where you no need to provide your phone number. So, sure you can pass on Steemit.

Will do, thanks, good luck with your ventures.

Original Film Music • 6 years ago

It's your loss if you're going to throw away an income opportunity just because they ask for a phone number. A lot of things asks for phone numbers these days! So I guess everything can go to hell. Great logic there.

Unknow • 6 years ago

It's definitly not a scam.

Devon • 6 years ago

Yep, Steemit is doing well till date.
