The correct number is 15 school shootings since Columbine in 1999. At any rate it's irrelevant. ANY is too many., but don't blame the tool-blame the perpetrator.

Blame the psychotropic drug industry. How many of the active shooters are on some type of psychotropic drug (which we can't find out about because it would be prying into their mental history) or should be receiving mental help (minus the stupid drugs)?

The way to stop most of the shootings is that anyone that works at the school can volunteer for to get training and get a concealed weapons permit. The School pays for the training the permit and the gun. Which would be cheaper for the school district than armed security guards. And tell the local media that you have armed concealed carry Personnel in the school, but don't tell anybody who they are.

They should get smart and get rid of those STUPID "Gun Free Zone" signs. What they really say is, "Unarmed, Defenseless People Here Zone".

They might as well have a sign that reads 'Open Season On Students and Faculty'.

In South Dakota school employees can take a 40 hour course from the State Police Academy too allow them to carry concealed guns on the job. There is only 1 school that admits they have armed employees, but I'll bet there's more, especially in schools without local law enforcement close by.

The above from Brittany show gun handling and safety is extremely lax, having a incorrect holstered weapon with one in the chamber and leaving a loaded gun laying around is extremely stupid, the correct gun holster would have prevented the gun being fired, and what can you say about a moron who leaves a loaded gun near school students ? every one should have the right to protect themselves ( as the police cannot protect you ) Gun safety should be paramount with severe penalties for the sloppy handling of the above morons
