The true economic issue is IMMIGRATION, IMMIGRATION, IMMIGRATION. Illegal immigration is impoverishing the USA. Dan Patrick, the Lt.Governor of Texas, has stated that there are at least 40 million illegals in the USA in 2018 and the numbers are climbing. When you count the children of these illegals the numbers could be as high as 50 million. Each one of these people cost the economy, including depressed wages, at least $50,000 a year in increased housing, education, medical, welfare, and job costs, and contribute nothing in return of any value. That's at least 2 TRILLION a year, enough to pay off all student debt, house the homeless, increase pay to the military, and give social security recipients a 25% rise in benefits. Over a generation or the next 50 years this will grow to over 100 TRILLION. Immigration in impoverishing Americans.It is the greatest issue of our lifetime.

A financial hole is the out-of-wedlock birthrate, whether a citizen or illegal. Funny thing is, the out-of-wedlock birthrate of foreigners goes up once in the United States, due to the misapplication of the 14th Amendment. If the American voters understood the fiscal and economic damage they are suffering as a result of illegal immigration they would support Trump's immigration; policies by huge margins. The true cost is TWO TRILLION a year and over 50 years that's 100 TRILLION in today's dollars.
