Jesus (in John's good news document) assumes the Father will draw His people to Jesus. Paul assumes that God has prophets in many/every nation(s). For the 12/70(2) Jesus modelled seeing God acting (dreams, inner voice, visions???-nature, rain on the just and the unjust) and doing what he saw the Father doing. He told his disciples that if they did his commandments (love one another) the Father would honor their prayers (ya know, the miraculous type which accompanied every early evangelist as evidence that the kingdom/reign was, in fact, breaking into the broken world).
