My labmate and I have been teaching ourselves probability theory (no small part of why I'd sent you the question about the birthday problem), and I have to say, it's made me all too eager to leave pi in the dust for an infatuation with e. I'd much rather try to celebrate e-Day now. Still, hey, at least pi Day is better than Square Root Day, right?
Not to mention the use of the ridiculous American system of month/day/year for the "holiday".
