Hmmm. Followed the instructions here with the newest version of Google Ads Editor, Wine on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS. Everything seem to be going fine. Got all the way to accepting the agreement and then it crashed. Haven't been able to get it to launch. I just get a spinning icon and then nothing. I noticed that if I have the newest version of Firefox open that gets all wonky but not consistently. Not sure if it is related.

Any ideas what is going on?

sorry i havent used ads editor in a while, have u tried using the latest wine (version 6)?
trying using stable and dev branches.

For some reason I cannot login to download the campaigns. Internal browser shows a blank page. External browser hangs Google Ads Editor. Did anyone found the same problem?

1. replace stable branch with winehq-devel package, which gives you the latest version of wine.

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply. DXVK did not help. Did you manage to go beyond connecting to login to download the campaigns? If so, what did you use, internal browser or external browser login?

when i used it before, it downloaded the campaigns and I was able to post changes. perhaps it might be wine doing its own thing.
also, try these recommendations:

1. set wine version to "windows 7"

2. install 2 DLL components with winetricks:
winetricks vcrun2017
winetricks d3dcompiler_47

Use winetricks list-installed to check if the components were installed

its not working from 4th point
Its showing msg like command not found will u please help with it

it sounds like u didnt install wine if wine and winecfg arent executable commands.

but if wine is installed, then r u sure that it's running through windows 10?
make sure to also check if u installed WINE version 5:
wine --version

Hi Agun, what do you use in order to download the campaigns? Internal browser login or external? If external... what browser have you installed? Do you use a linux browser or a windows/winehq one? Have you installed IE in your wine copy?

ya for all campaings for login it self you pick anything you like. I used mozilla at that times.

already test the internal browser from ads editor? I simply follow the instruction on the blog and all good. I using manjaro

Tried both from different computers. Internal shows a blank page so you cannot log in. External hangs Ads Editor (any external link even help links in configuration page). Maybe it has something to do with latest version 1.5.2.

Hi, I had the same issue. Couldn't log in. Talked to Google support and I couldn't resolve the issue either. Now with newer versions of Google Ads Editor it doesn't even open.

this is an unofficial tutorial, so it's not guaranteed to work for future versions.
but try the newest wine version, i think it's currently 6.0.1

the process is virtually the same for any distro; you just need to install wine differently.
