My parents are currently on holidays in Vietnam and Thailand, everywhere they go there they see Chinese people being rude, loud, climbing on monuments for selfies (sometimes sacred monunents) and men spitting on the ground.

most of westerners cannot know where are they from.

In Japan, I witnessed three groups of tourists that drew my attention: Indonesian, Chinese, and Koreans. There was one instance of a Korean family who quickly hogged seats on a bus but also quickly pulled their daughter off the chair to offer a pregnant Japanese lady a seat. There was a few instances of somehow loud Indonesians in particular family travellers but not too overly loud by my standards. But there was PLENTY of Chinese travellers instances where they:
1. Jumped queues in Tokyo Disneysea by having families spread over a number of attractions only for a relative to converge into their other queuing member in another attraction once one member has completed an attraction.
2. Spoke VERY loudly to each other which was not confined to just Tokyo Disneyland/Seas but also to other areas even within public transport or within honten areas (eg: Dotonbori) and usually it is the grandmothers/fathers who tend to speak very loudly. Their children however were behaving normally and in general, very reasonable.
3. Spoke to the locals in a very commanding way as if they are in their own home country and I felt really sorry for them for having to put up with their arrogance that I came to them to compliment their hard work in their own language.

This was my experience when I came there 2 months ago.

Koreans may be loud but they DEFINITELY DO NOT act like that abroad. There is enough footage out there of Chinese tourists behaving badly IN JAPAN. I've traveled around the world and I've seen some crazy things too. Try not to get too offended. As for Taiwanese, they are NOT like that either. Please stop.

I miss the days when China was in COVID lockdown and the rest of the world could travel in relative peace..... no large groups of rude tourists following their flag bearing leader, being on speakerphone on a quiet train (BT headphones must only be MADE in China, not used!), being completely oblivious to things called "lines" and "patience"....... and then there's the spitting, p*ssing & sh*tting in the streets!!

Nobody wants tourists from China, Hong Kong or Macau anyway.

and it's being the same for indians too now. Just flew from Atlanta to Paris earlier this month. Everyone was sleeping and all Indians aboard started to gather and talk loudly in the middle of the night, one even called out loud someone else at the back of the cabin. At 2 am, the flight was up because of them. Before that, at dinner time, they made a fuss onboard to be served before the rest of the cabin, saying that they have a different diet and needed to eat first instead of waiting for the whole cabin to have regular meals served.

If you had a business that caters to Chinese you'd realize how stupid what you just said was. For the moment this will be a huge blow for many retail stores as Chinese tourists tend to spend more per person than most tourists. I've traveled to Tokyo with Chinese friends and it's mind blowing to watch them shop.

I also lived in both China and Hong Kong for 16 years which is irrelevant. The world outside China including Japan survived very successfully without RMB and will continue to if inflow of RMB dried up .

Newsflash: there are tourists from other countries too... and not everything revolves around tourism money, specifically, Chinese money.

There are so many customers around this continent. Putting all your eggs into a single basket is pure stupidity from a business perspective.

I didn't say there wasn't. I'm only saying it will be a big hit for those businesses that rely on it. You must be someone who's livelihood doesn't rely on it.

This was done only because new Japan Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Japan will support Taiwan if China attacks. As someone who lived in China for 12 years and has many friends there' there have been no attacks or crimes directed against Chinese people by the Japanese. Absolutely. The argument that there would have been increase in crime towards Chinese is absurd. The government should have just stated that they would prefer their citizens not to travel to Japan over this Taiwan issue.

The Chinese have political issues with Australia, Thailand, US … and now Japan so they scare their own citizens about visiting. Perhaps they should just go to the likeminded outcast countries- Russia, Iran, Nth Korea and soon Sth Africa. Im sure they will like the Chinese money like Laos.

Don't think it would have any impact on the travel plan of Chinese travellers. The warning is totally politically motivated and there is no real danger for Chinese travellers in Japan. The Chinese would verbally support the Chinese government propaganda but physically they will still travel to Japan. We in Hong Kong were hoping the airfare to Japan would go down as Chinese are stop from going to Japan. Unfortunately it is the other way round as some Chinese airlines reduce Jpan flight frequency due to government pressure (CX excluded) and more Chinese are transiting through HKG to Japan drivin up airfare!!

No. The casino I use don't usually market to Japan. It's just that the country's laws got stricter and the operator doesn't want to make enemies.
