46 witnesses and none of them willing to point to a suspect? I think it's very possible Lawson was accidentally stabbed by one of his own friends and no one is willing to come forward for fear of being deemed racist.

Speculative Tourist • 6 years ago

And you’re getting your information from where exactly?

Relax • 6 years ago

Hence the words "I think" people don't need a source to have an opinion.

Speculative Tourist • 6 years ago

When dealing with a criminal case such as this, opinions don’t have any weight. Opinions are for picking out colors during a remodel, not for picking out suspects.

I hope you're wrong, though I am not completely skeptical of your assessment. The world is just that shitty, and this case is just that damn strange. Nothing would surprise me, though if Zoellner is named again, I hope they have the case solidly laid out and chains of custody fully documented on the forensic testing and its results.

The Lawson family deserves justice, and not a rush to judgment. If Kyle slid out of the prosecution through some sloppiness, well... This has to be torturous for them, but whatever case the PD and DA might bring will likely meet a higher bar and not fall over at the first glance of a judge.

If Zoellner is innocent, and they have another suspect when it all comes down, I hope they have that perpetrator well pinned for it. I saw Josiah's mom before I left again for work in September, you can see the pain on her face. That won't go away, but maybe it will change to something less unbearable if some justice is done.

Everyone who can critically think knows this. After reading all the descriptions of the event, it's obvious Lawson tried to hold down Zoellner, or they were both fighting on the ground, and Lawson's friend(s) ran up with a knife from the kitchen and tried to stab Zoellner, and instead stabbed Lawson. Which completely flips the race issue that Lawson's family and friends keep pushing and instead puts a attempted murder and a manslaughter charge on one of Lawson's friends. That wont fit the narrative, will it though?

Garlic Breath • 6 years ago

You say "it's obvious" but then say it might have been one of two scenarios. Your whole statement is bunk.

Know the difference • 6 years ago

It's not manslaughter, it can only be murder as there was definately premeditation, with the intent to cause great bodily injury or harm.

Hoist on his own petard perhaps?

Guest • 6 years ago

I like it.

Garlic Breath • 6 years ago

Then you're an idiot. How can it be obvious, yet not clearly one scenario, but possibly two?! Apologies if you are eight years old...

Yeah, great points! I wonder if they can subpoena text records from all involved. There should be some evidence there to back up what you're saying.

Billy Jack • 6 years ago

I am not sure it's obvious but I think your theory might have some merit. With all of the witnesses no one wants to rat out one of their own. Brothers United sticking together.

Superfly • 6 years ago

Should have turned the case over to the csi gang or law and oorder. They do not have to wait 10 months for dna testing.

Speculative Tourist • 6 years ago

This isn’t a tv show.

PGk1067 • 6 years ago

Just how complex can this "complex DNA testing" be? They've had almost ten months already!

Grandma • 6 years ago

The only mildly interesting statement is that they gathered more evidence after the preliminary hearing. Probably they need more complex DNA testing because so far they haven't been able to connect Kyle Zoellner to the killing. As in none of Lawson's blood on Zoellner's clothing, and no blood on the knife. But we'll see, someday.

The F.B.I DNA testing lab is the one place I have heard of being lacking in the past.

12 hours now. It amazes me that they don't ever remind themselves to check in on an article like this because this happens every time.

Diane • 6 years ago

I would like to know why one homicide in this area is more important than another? Other have been murdered and they don't get resources and press

What a joke! • 6 years ago

I read through all the comments and cannot believe how mean and uncaring you people are. This young man was here attending school and he was murdered. His family deserves answers. I hope if your child is ever in this kind of situation you are not treated this way. I met the mom and she just wants justice for her son as every mom would. She wasn't racist towards us at all. It's not about color or at least it shouldn't be.

Negligence • 6 years ago

Because Loco comment sections are mostly idiotic trolls, actually just a couple of trolls with lots of socks. LOCO comment threads are a joke at best.

FrankThinker • 6 years ago

I believe we do not have all the facts, and I think there was a lot more to this than a fight and a stabbing. I want the case solved and the guilty party found culpable. His mom seems like a nice lady in person, and she needs some assurance that even our messed up world has some kind of justice in it.

Justsomejoe • 6 years ago

Its so sad when so many witnesses didn't see anything. It'll be even more sad when it turns out that it was a BU member who accidentally did it and suddenly all of humboldt is racist and all white people are the KKK
