Hello. Looking for a decent mouse to play World of Warcraft (MMORPG) with. Not sure what the market is like, as it seems saturated. I am looking for a good value for money. One one hand, I do not want to buy a cheap quality one, on the other one, I do not want to overspend. Thanks!

Daniel • 5 years ago

Well, if you're looking for a reasonably priced option that still has good quality and a few extra buttons for binds, then you may want to consider a midrange option from Logitech like the G300s or the G403.

Zhnigo • 5 years ago

This doesn't mention that the deathadder has one of the wonkiest scroll wheels in its price range, the steps are mushy as all hell and the damn thing clunks around even as I move the mouse from side to side.

Daniel • 5 years ago

I am unable to find confirmation of that issue in any of the official reviews. In fact, more than one of them specifically praise the scroll wheel of the Deathadder. Is there any chance that the issues are related to damage or a defect in your particular mouse?

Zhnigo • 5 years ago

Thanks for your reply!
I had the same issue with my 2013 deathadder, then with the deathadder chroma I'm still using (which I specifically got in exchange for my 2013 through the warranty, and it took maybe a couple months for the problems to arise again), the same thing is happening with my friend's deathadder 2013, who lives in a different country from me, and an independent review (which are more trustworthy than official ones in my opinion) I've seen a couple months ago on the latest deathadder elite confirms the problems with the wheel are still very much there. I can record a video of mine if you want.
It's perfectly usable and you can and will get used to it, but once you try a different mouse with scroll steps that are actually snappy, you will instantly see the difference. In that price range, there's no reason to settle for less when you can have it all.

Cat • 5 years ago

I know this was a month ago, but I figured I'd add.
I've also had two deathadders, 2013 and chroma, and both have had scroll wheel issues as well, but they definitely aren't 'perfectly usable'. Scrolling is just completely spastic going in either direction, like -- if I scroll the wheel up, it'll typically go up, but also scroll down and then possibly back up, with so much variance that it could end up making the page move down farther than where it started with a single shift of the wheel. Apparently it's a fairly easy fix if you don't have a problem opening the mouse up from what I've found online, but that voids the warranty, and I don't think many people want to go through that trouble anyway.
Really sucks because I love the shape and feel of the deathadder, but I'm probably going to try something else unless I'm feeling lazy and decide to give it a third strike.

Zhnigo • 5 years ago

Yeah man, this sucks. It's not as bad on mine, thankfully.
What kind of mouse are you looking for to replace it with?

Daniel • 5 years ago

Thank you for taking the time to give us this information. I'll pass it along to the part of our team in charge of the mouse recommendations, and they'll look into it.

Zhnigo • 5 years ago

cheers!

Some of these links, including the "Important (mouse)" section, are unavailable. This guide definitely needs to be updated.

Daniel • 5 years ago

Thanks for lettings us know. I'll go through the guide and cull dead links at some point in the near future. But as it says in the guide, we have not been able to do a thorough update to the contents of this guide since August of 2015---so the links are likely not the only thing outdated!

Hey logical increments,
Here are my specs Graphics: GTX 1060 6GB ($300)
CPU: i5 8600k ($243)
Heat sync: NH-U12S ($58)
Motherboard: ASRock Z370 Killer ($150)
RAM: 8 GB DDR4 ($77)
Hard drive: 2 TB ($57)
Solid state drive: 256 GB ($64)
Power supply: SeaSonic G-650 ($72)
Would this fit in a mid tower or is a full tower necessary? Thank you.

Daniel • 5 years ago

Those parts should fit in most standard ATX mid-tower cases. The only dimensions you'll want to double-check before purchasing will be the length of your graphics card and the height of your CPU Cooler (compared to the allowance for both of those things in your preferred case).

Ricky Rubins • 5 years ago

Thank you. I am extremely worried as of right now because I ordered everything, went on pc part picker and according to them an i5 8600k isn’t compatible with an AsRock Z370 K6. Please confirm with me that this isn’t true because the Superb model on your website has these parts together

Daniel • 5 years ago

I checked the warning in question. It is not saying that those parts are incompatible. All it's saying is that the i5-8600K doesn't come with a stock CPU Cooler, which is true. But since you're ordering an NH-U12S, you're covered in that regard.

Ohh ok thank you, that’s a big relief

Any suggestions for upright/vertical type mice that reduce carpal tunnel?

Daniel • 5 years ago

Unfortunately, we do not have any research or info about vertical mice. But we wish you the best in finding one that works for you!

Nikos K • 6 years ago

what about deathadder elite?

Daniel • 6 years ago

The Deathadder Elite would fit into the chart alongside its older series sibling, the Deathadder Chroma.

Alex Basine • 6 years ago

Pretty much anything with Avago (now Pixart) 3310 sensors. Which makes up 80% of the list because it's the one proven flawless sensor. Can't go wrong with it, outside of that is form factor and additives.

Matt • 6 years ago

It seems I broke the mouse button 5 on my Deathadder Chroma. The one tip of it occasionally get stuck. Not that it doesn't work but it will drive me crazy. I tend to get a little excited and am probably not the most gentle with my mice. So my question for you would be; is there a durable mouse option? Perhaps steel components? I'm sure I just broke a nub of plastic on my Deathadder that allows the button to get stuck now.

Daniel • 6 years ago

I haven't looked into it much, but speaking from personal experience Logitech and Cooler Master make sturdy, reliable mice.

Woto • 6 years ago

Thoughts on Logitech's new wireless mice options? (G903 and G703)

keltor • 6 years ago

Since no reply - in general the upper end Logitech mice use the PMW3366 chip with a laser, which is effectively flawless. I'm sure there' some cheap mice that use both and suck, but in general, it's hard to screw up. Logitech's latest wireless mice have pretty flawless wireless, "close" to latency-less. The mice are really well built with perfect buttons for "some" people, not everyone likes them, that crowd usually prefers Razer's mice.

Personally though, there's only one perfect mouse, the MX518, so the G403 is "basically" now the replacement for it, it comes in wired and wireless. If you're wrists are good, the wireless version is pretty much the perfect mouse.

The links to the Zowie store are broken.

Daniel • 6 years ago

Right you are! They moved their mouse page---here it is: https://zowie.benq.com/en/p...

What do you think of the Logitech G300s?

Garrett R • 6 years ago

Good mid-budget gaming mouse. Modern optical sensor, high durability Omron switches, good build quality for the price; pretty much everything you'd expect with the modern Logitech G#S line. Additionally the ambidextrous design can be a big deal for the left handed minority out there.

I came from a Corsair M95 to my current G502 and really only have nice things to say about the recent additions to Logitech's mouse lineup.

Pratul Neupane • 6 years ago

Yeah I bought the G300s after asking this, and I love it!
Also thanks for replying

Felipet • 6 years ago

It'd be nice to see the g403~g203 on the list.

Matthew • 6 years ago

Thanks for the suggestion!

Geoff M • 7 years ago

The only mouse I buy (bought one for home, one for work, and re bought another one after my first one broke after a few years) is the Logitech M500. This mouse is around 30-40$, has a nice grip, has two nice butons on the side, and above all, it has this nice "free flowing" scroll button that is awesome for scrolling. Now whenever I find myself with a mouse that I can't sping the scroll wheel I get very annoyed.

Matthew • 7 years ago

Interesting! Glad you found a mouse you really like!

Gas • 7 years ago

What is the typical length of a mouse cord?

stewartcristan • 7 years ago

I think 5 meters.

Matthew • 7 years ago

Generally at least a couple feet! It does vary from model to model.

Gas • 7 years ago

You made a spelling mistake on the last mouse. You wrote (imperceptable latency), but it's spelled (imperceptible). Just thought I would let you know. Great guide!!

Matthew • 7 years ago

Thanks for letting us know!

Alvaro • 7 years ago

im left handed. wich one do you think is a good choice for me? I have medium/large hands so I always go for a big mice in order to be able to do the palm grip. I would very apreciate if you can also recomend a medium budget keyboard with volume keys/scroll.

Matthew • 7 years ago

What is your budget on the mouse? Something like this would be good and may be in stock elsewhere: https://www.amazon.com/CM-S...

Have a look at our keyboard guide for some great options! http://www.logicalincrement...

Arannan • 7 years ago

What do you think of G.Skill Ripjaws MX780? Is it worth, considering it's priced 48€?

Matthew • 7 years ago

It seems to prioritize flash over functionality. It looks fine, but a bit overpriced and not as good as some of our reccomendations on the tier list.

David G. • 7 years ago

What about the G900?

Finalmouse scream one coming out soon.

And the Deathadder Elite tomorrow.

Matthew • 7 years ago

We will definitely look into them!

aaa • 7 years ago

FK model having 7 buttons is misleading. You can use 5 maximum. There are 2 thumb buttons on each side but you can have 1 side available at a time (because ambidextrous). Buttons on the other side are disabled. I couldn't find any way to somehow enable them.

SMESH • 7 years ago

I'll ask Falcon, maybe we own the mouse and he can have a look at it!

aarr44 • 7 years ago

Say, why is the G400s in both the closest to perfect list and then "not on that list because of reasons"? Also, if one of the Deathadder's problems is not lasting long, isn't that a huge problem? Razer may be stingy with RMAs.

Matthew • 7 years ago

I put this in a report a while back!

Eric Feng • 8 years ago

I think it would be nice if you guys did a full review of the mice. Could I please get a review of the G303, if possible?
