Hello,
I have R5 3600 and Tuf gaming rtx3070 , playing on m.2 and 16gb of 3200mhz ram. Is it normal that i have avarage fps only 120-130 ?
Thinking about changing 3600 to 5600x aswell, but im not sure does it make any difference.. ?

Taavi • 3 months ago

forgot the resolution, its 1440p

Daniel • 3 months ago

Well, that depends on the graphical settings you're using---but in general, yes, that sounds about right. A system with an RTX 3070 and an R5 3600 should have overall gaming performance roughly in the neighborhood of the 'Superb' tier of our main build recommendation chart, which we would expect to be capable of 90-144 FPS at 1440p with balanced settings (or lower with high/max settings).

But with that being said, we would not expect upgrading the CPU to a 5600X to make a noticeable difference in your frame rates in PUBG. The limiting factor in PUBG, especially at a resolution above 1080p, is likely to be the GPU. It's a tough situation, though, as there is some chance that a 3600 could function as a bottleneck if you were to upgrade only the GPU at this point.

Hi..I haw big issues with PUBG.
Settings.
R9 5900x
4070
16gb 3200
ROG strix MB
SSD 500gb
1000w 80plus gold
Aoc 32inch 240hz VA panel
..the problem is bottleneck. I play on 1080p and getting crazy fps drops and bottlenecking. When I set some other settings, it doesn't matter what I change I'm getting better for while..and after while it's back and the recoil is different and I think game even don't register my shots.. is there any setup how to fix this...like TGLTN play the game on smaller resolution and low settings and he don't have this problem..I tried everything on ultra, fps was better but after while stuttering is back..

Daniel • 4 months ago

An online game not registering your shots and giving you inconsistent recoil would usually be a server/internet connectivity issue, not a hardware problem. Similarly, it is possible for stuttering and apparent FPS drops to be manifestations of lag.

Have you been able to rule out latency issues as the root cause of the problems you're encountering, by running internet speed tests at various times during the day, and by playing other online competitive games that use similar server systems?

I ask this because those parts are relatively well-balanced for each other, and should not be causing any noticeable bottlenecks. But if you still think a bottleneck or similar hardware problem is the culprit, I would recommend doing some system monitoring. The simplest way of doing this would be to run the game and open the 'Performance' tab of Windows Task Manager, then watch to see if one of the parts is using a much higher percentage of its resources than the others.

I'd also be interested to know what exact FPS figures you're seeing. You mention a 240 Hz monitor, but dips from 240+ FPS to 200 are obviously far different from, say, dips from 200+ FPS to 50.

Chesus Onderčín • 4 months ago

Daniel maybe if you have discord and have some time we can speak about.

Daniel • 4 months ago

Unfortunately, that won't be possible. But I am happy to continue answering questions here to the best of my ability.

Chesus Onderčín • 4 months ago

Im in the holiday and will be back after 8 of January..than I will answer.. but the fps I know I go from 400 to 100 when I'm turning around..or in the cities like poliana or pochinky on erangel it's 80..

How many fps can my pc run
i7 3770
gtx1060 3gb
16gb ram
480 gb ssd

Daniel • 9 months ago

A PC with an i7-3770 and a GTX 1060 3GB should have overall gaming performance around the level of the current 'Modest' tier of our general build recommendation chart. As a result, we would expect it to be capable of 45-60 FPS in PUBG at 1080p with max settings.

Mustafa • 1 year ago

Hi. I ordered pc today (Mb: Asus rog strix b660A gaming wifi d4, Cpu: i5 12400F, Ram: 3600 MHZ cl18, SSD: Seagate FireCuda 530 500GB, VGA: Asus Tuf Gaming Rtx 3060ti, Psu: Corsair RM750, Case Corsair 4000d airflow, Monitor: Asus Tuf Gaming Vg259QR 165Hz). Can I always play stable 144hz?

Daniel • 1 year ago

A PC with an i5-12400F and an RTX 3060 Ti would be at the level of the 'Great' tier of our general build recommendation chart, which we would expect to be capable of staying consistently above 144 FPS at 1080p with ultra settings (and even staying consistently above 90 FPS at 1440p ultra).

Ryuxy • 1 year ago

hi, I have an i5 8400 and a gtx 1070ti with competitive settings, with these specs I can play smoothly in normal mode (100fps ++). the problem is I play for the pubg esport scene and when I'm in a tournament I feel so hard to compete there are always problems like lag, stutter, etc. to reduce this problem then what component is right for me to upgrade?

Daniel • 1 year ago

Is there any possibility those problems are only cropping up in tournaments because they introduce special internet issues? That is, ordinarily you are matched to people in your region, so connectivity issues like lag are not a big factor. But in a tournament, you're intentionally connecting to a specific set of people instead of a specific region of people---so the connection strength between players in that match may be far worse.

Or are you saying that you always get lag and stutter despite 100+ FPS, but it's only really a problem in tournaments? If that's what you mean, then you'd first need to determine what's causing your biggest bottleneck. One way to check this would be to play the game at your desired settings and measure the FPS, then overclock your GPU, then play the game at your desired settings and measure the FPS again. If the FPS is higher the second time around, your graphics card is the bottleneck; if the FPS does not change noticeably between the two tests, the bottleneck lies elsewhere (probably in your CPU or RAM).

Hi, i am building my dream pc from India for 1080p competitive settings only. My current config is below.
i5 11400
Asus prime series B560-ma
16 gb ram- single
500 gb ssd
2tb HD
Ant eSports 511mt
650 psu
Planning to get RTX 3050
Ordered Samsung Odyssey g4 240hz ips
My question is, can pubg run 200+ fps in all low settings with above configuration?
Do I need to upgrade to 3060 since I have 240hz monitor for higher fps?
Does my cpu bottleneck ? I heard i5 11400 was best budget option for gaming.

Appreciate comments on above.

Daniel • 1 year ago

It would be a close call, but unfortunately you would probably need a better CPU than that to get a consistent 200+ FPS in PUBG at 1080p with low settings.

For reference, compare the following two benchmark videos. Both showcase PUBG at 1080p with low settings. The first one gets an average of more than 200 FPS with an RTX 3050 and a better CPU than the 11400; the second one gets an average of less than 200 FPS with an 11400 and a better GPU than the 3050.

Hi there. I'm thinking about upgrading from 9100F and RX 570 8Gb. The FPS in this game is around 100 on 144Hz panel on lowest preset (except textures), DX11 Enhanced API is on. After PUBG Lite the lack of performance is very noticeable. What would you suggest? The budget is ~450$. I suppose mobo is the first thing to change because of RAM 2400 MHz limitation on B360 chipset and lack of PCI lanes.

https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

Daniel • 1 year ago

Hmm, tough call! In the abstract, upgrading the GPU would be the most direct way to improve your FPS in a game like PUBG. And $450 is enough to get something like an RTX 3060 currently---which should provide a very noticeable improvement over the 570 (as it's roughly twice as powerful).

On the other hand, you are correct that your CPU/mobo situation is probably near the upper bound of its abilities at this point, so there is actually a chance that you're already seeing a minor bottleneck there. And if that's the case, an upgrade of the GPU may not be as effective as it should be.

All that being said, I would still lean toward recommending the GPU upgrade; after all, not only is a motherboard upgrade much more involved, but $450 would just barely be enough to get a new CPU, motherboard, set of RAM, and CPU Cooler that are compatible with each other and noticeably better than your current set-up (such as an arrangement based around an i5-12400F and 16GB of DDR4-3200 or DDR4-3600 RAM, for instance---which would be closer to a 20-30% upgrade, unlike the 100% upgrade in the graphics card).

Korosoid • 1 year ago

I didn't expected that fast response... Regards for that. And for comprehensive answer of course.

Indeed i'll benefit of upgrading GPU, and it's always wise to do, but, in Russian Federation (country i belong to rn) the cheapest Palit RTX 3060 costs ~900$: RTX 3050 ~650$, so i can't afford that, even psychologically. Even GTX 1650 costs around 450$, but it wouldn't be an upgrade. The rest of PC parts are significantly cheaper tho, even cheaper than before invading on Ukraine (condolences to Ukrainians). Besides, green cards had driver overhead issue, which is critical for my quad core.

I thought like upgrading to 12400 (with iGPU for quick sync and codecs) and some non OC mobo is a good idea, while they are affordable. Also, i have some 2x8 2666 MHz Samsung T-die dual rank RAM, so i could swap them to newer mobo, and, theoretically, sell older parts (9100F, B360M H, RX 570 8Gb) and then try to look for GPU. Not sure if i can get it from another country (like Germany and computeruniverse dot com) due to sanctions over payment system.

Daniel • 1 year ago

Ah, yes, regional market differences can certainly be a factor that would change my advice. If the CPU upgrade is within your reach and the GPU upgrade isn't, that makes the decision much clearer/easier.

Korosoid • 11 months ago

What's up?
I ended up with 5600X (for 170$, new) and 6650 XT (It was 120$ more expensive for me than here, also new) 8 months ago. Everything is running just fine on 1080p@144Hz except for RAM, it's only able to achieve 3200Mhz with huge 20's timings, which is kinda ok due to dual rank.
For 6700 i should've upgrade PSU which I didn't wanted to do, yet. RX 6800 starts with 620$. The rest of high end GPU's are also 100-300$ more expensive in russian markets. For comparison iPhone 14 Pro 256 costs ~1560$.
I didn't go with Intel due to sanctions and their weird flex with B660 Mortar Max mobos where they turned off bus OC so i refused of thoughts about 12400 and got B550 Mortar.

Daniel • 11 months ago

Awesome! Glad to hear everything (other than the RAM, at least) is performing well.

How many fps can my pc run
i5 11400
Rtx3080 4gb
8gb ram
560 gb ssd

Daniel • 2 years ago

That is tough to say with accuracy, as that is a somewhat unbalanced machine. In particular, while the RTX 3080 appears in the current 'Extremist' tier of our general build recommendation chart, the i5-11400 lives down in the 'Fair' to 'Very Good' tiers. So, it depends on the degree of the bottleneck. If PUBG doesn't rely much on the CPU, then that machine could provide a steady framerate between 144 and 200 FPS with all max settings. On the other hand, if the game does rely on the CPU to a significant degree, the average could be down closer to 60 FPS with max settings.

how many fps can my pc runs??
gtx 1650
i5 10400
16gb ram

Daniel • 2 years ago

A PC with an i5-10400 and a GTX 1650 would fit into the 'Modest' tier of our general build recommendation chart, so we would expect it to be capable of 45-60 FPS in PUBG at 1080p with max settings (or better performance with lower settings).

NuwanDS • 2 years ago

can GTX 660 , 8 GB ram , i5 2400 run at 1366x768 resolution ?

Daniel • 2 years ago

That depends heavily on the settings being used. At 1366x768, those specs should be capable of keeping PUBG at a smooth framerate (60+ FPS) up to low/medium settings. But all medium or higher may cause the machine to struggle.

BruhMoment • 2 years ago

pubg on hdd is it not okay?

Daniel • 2 years ago

PUBG on HDD is just fine. SSD would get slightly faster load times, but differences in in-game performance should be negligible.

BruhMoment • 2 years ago

mine loads slow as hell it takes 5 mins

Daniel • 2 years ago

Yes, load times would be the difference (although even with an HDD 5 minutes would be quite excessive; are you sure that's a load time and not a queue time?). To be clear: when I say 'differences in in-game performance should be negligible,' I'm talking about after you're in the game, running around and playing.

Hello there,
First of all, thank you very much for your information. I am using laptop with i7 8750h cpu and gtx 1070 graphics card. 32gb ram and m2 ssd available. The screen is 1080p 144hz. But I'm connecting it to a 280hz asus tuf monitor and playing. What should my best settings be for pubg? Should I play in low resolution? Or is it 1920x1080? Thank you from now.

Daniel • 2 years ago

Personally, I would opt to play at 1080p in that situation, and adjust settings down until I reached an FPS threshold with which I was pleased (or default to low on nearly everything). But it is straightforwardly true that the biggest jump in frame rate from changing a single setting would result from dropping the resolution, so ultimately you may have to decide what will be your highest priority (staying at 1080p, or reaching your maximum possible frame rate).

John Carlo Medalle • 3 years ago

what should I upgrade to get 90+fps with 1728x1080 and very low settings

CPU - Ryzen 5 2400G
GPU - GIBABYTE Rx 570 4gb
MoBo - Asus Prime A320m-a
PSU - 500W silverstone
SSD- 480GB
RAM- 16gb

Daniel • 3 years ago

At very low settings below 1080p, you should already be there with those parts. But I guess one can never underestimate the poor optimization of PUBG. So if you just want to know what the weakest link in your system is, it would probably be the CPU and motherboard---although not by a huge margin. Other than the CPU, that whole system is reasonably close to the performance of the current 'Modest' tier of our general build recommendation chart.

Im currently using an ASUS laptop i7 8750 16Gb RAM and a Geforce GTX 1060 on a 17" laptop screen. I run PubG fine on lowish settings but when I run some benchmark tests it is showing its age a bit. Im still a bit of a beginner so Im wondering if I buy a new gaming rig so that it runs faster at higher settings will it make things a little easier (in terms of spotting other players and pin pointing targets quickier / more accurately or do I just need to learn to play some more

Daniel • 3 years ago

Well, it depends. It is undoubtedly more difficult to spot and aim at distant players on a 17" screen, even if that screen is 1080p. So upgrading from that to a physically larger screen, say 24" or 27" (and ideally also a higher resolution if you're going past 24"), will help. But higher in-game settings would be more a mixed bag in regards to how well you play. They may provide additional visual details that help you to understand the gameworld better at a glance (or, for that matter, just enjoy playing more); but they will also reduce the frame rate of the game, and possibly add distracting details that obscure other players.

Daniel • 4 years ago

A build with an R5 3600X and an RTX 2060 would have overall gaming performance that is roughly comparable to the current 'Great' tier of our general build recommendation chart. As such, we would expect it to be capable of about 70-90 FPS in PUBG at 1440p with max settings, and about 80-100 FPS in Apex Legends at 1440p with max settings, and about 60-80 FPS in COD Warzone at 1440p with max settings.

Rahul • 4 years ago

Thanks for the quick response!

As mentioned earlier, I am thinking of RTX 2060 SUPER instead of regular 2060, but that does not make much of a difference. Appreciate your help.

Daniel • 4 years ago

Right, my mistake! Actually, that would probably make a noticeable difference, as the 2060 Super is over 10% more powerful than the 2060, and (together with the 3600X) would move the whole build up closer to our 'Superb' or 'Excellent' tier.

Rahul • 4 years ago

Very glad to hear that, thank you!

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB KO ULTRA GAMING Video Card

Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

Daniel • 4 years ago

A build with an i7-9700K and an RTX 2060 would be roughly comparable to the current 'Superb' tier of our general build recommendation chart, so we would expect it to be capable of 60-90 FPS in PUBG at 1080p with max settings (or similar FPS at 1440p with medium/high settings). We might recommend bumping the headroom on your PSU wattage up by another 100 Watts or so, but otherwise that seems like a rather solid build.

Hello

My laptop dell i5 2.5GH 7700
Ram 16 g
Hard disk 500 SSD
GPU Nvidia 1060 4G ti

When I open the game in higher resolution the game start laging

What I should do ?

Daniel • 4 years ago

I can't really give you an accurate answer to that question, as I'm not totally sure what parts are in your computer based on the list you've provided.

For the graphics card, there is no GTX 1060 Ti, and (as far as I know) there is no model or GTX 1060 or GTX 1660 that has 4GB of VRAM. The GTX 1650 has 4GB of VRAM, but has no Ti version.

For the CPU, there is no i5-7700. And neither the i5-7600 nor the i7-7700 has a clock speed of 2.5 GHz. (Those are also not mobile processors, so they probably wouldn't be in a Dell laptop.)

In order to determine the exact parts in your computer (assuming you are on Windows), you should open Task Manager and go to the Performance tab. The CPU and GPU sections of that tab will show you the model names of your hardware in the upper right corner.

Amro Assaf • 4 years ago
Daniel • 4 years ago

Thank you for linking those specifications.

Okay, so you have a PC with an i5-7300HQ for the CPU, a GTX 1050 Ti for the GPU, and a 1080p monitor.

That's a bit of an odd machine, as it's somewhat unbalanced (with a noticeably more powerful GPU than CPU). In particular, while the i5-7300HQ would fit in between the CPUs in the 'Destitute' and 'Poor' tiers of our general build recommendation chart, the GTX 1050 Ti would fit up between the 'Entry' and 'Modest' tiers.

So if we assume that it will have overall performance somewhere in the middle---maybe similar to the 'Minimum' tier---then we would certainly think that PC would have trouble with PUBG (which is a particularly difficult-to-run, poorly optimized game). A 'Minimum' tier build could be expected to provide less than 20 FPS in PUBG at 1080p with max settings; so just getting the game to be playable would require reducing the settings and/or resolution.
