Yes, it should! A PC with an older i7 that stays below 4GHz, a GTX 1660 Ti, and 32GB of RAM would likely have overall gaming performance somewhere in the neighborhood of the 'Fair' tier of our main build chart.
In terms of the example builds in the first section of the Rocket League guide above, that would be in between the 1080p and 1440p builds. So 60+ FPS with max settings at 1080p should be expected.
I'd love to play this at maxed out settings, it looks so much nicer. Right now I get 23 FPS on the menu screen but my PC is an old Laptop. So I am definitely in need of an upgrade. I am able to play on my Switch Lite for one or two games before it lags horribly. I also need to upgrade my controller. It works but one joystick is drifting down and to the right. I got it at ROSS for like 10 bucks.
If you need any advice or have any specific questions about those upgrade plans, please feel free to ask!
Could you update this to current gen Ryzen processors?
We are definitely planning to update this article with information about newer AMD products, as well as newer items from Intel, Nvidia, and others. Unfortunately, I am unable to give you any estimate on when exactly we will be able to do that, as we have quite a small team and so we have to prioritize our updating work based on which pages get the most attention from users.
In the meantime, while it's obviously an imperfect solution since it's not specific to Rocket League, the general PC gaming build chart on our homepage is always kept completely up-to-date.
Hello I got to say this is very useful info for me! But the thing is is that Im trying to build a PC around 600-800 dollars is there anything that could fit in between? Is it possible to add a graphics card that could run the game well for cheaper?
I'm guessing from the context of your comment that you're aiming for 1440p. If that's correct, then it should be possible to cut some corners on memory and storage in order to achieve the same core components as our 1440p example build with a somewhat lower price. In particular, by cutting down to 8GB of RAM and switching a 1TB HDD for the 1TB SSD, you should be able to bring the overall cost of the build down from about $900 to about $750.
One note: if you're playing split-screen, turn off Bloom. It creates a bunch of weird light shaft artifacts.

Very odd! Thank you for the comment. Due to the rarity of splitscreen play, we probably won't be adding that info to the guide. But I'm glad you commented, in case someone does happen to be seeking info about that.
