I'd get over 165fps which 165hz is my monitore refresh rate, but I'd get the same at 4k with an i9 9900k and a 3080. sooo

Sounds like you've got a great machine!

Consistently poppin 140fps with i7-9700kf and Asus rog 2060 super 32gb 3200mhz ram Asus rog Strix 390 pro 1080p 27" msi curved gaming 144hz 1ms monitor

All settings on high or ultra.

If you're mentioning that in response to the '1080p 100fps' example build in the article above, don't worry! We also believe that the featured build with the RTX 2070 will do quite a bit better than 100 FPS at 1080p. The stats listed in the name of the build are just minimums, where the highest mentioned resolution is usually the determining factor of the build; so in that case, the '1440p 60fps' part of the target really drove the recommendations.

You make a good point.

Hey just wanted to let you know I'm viewing this article from my mobile phone, and switching back and forth between mobile view and desktop version, portrait or landscape, the text and images are cut off on the right side.
I'm not perfect, I could definitely be doing something wrong, but I'd love to read it and I figure maybe you could double check the formatting to make sure it's set for mobile devices too? Thanks!

Daniel • 4 years ago

Unfortunately, it is definitely not set for mobile devices. The poor mobile compatibility of our site has been a consistent source of annoyance for users over the years. That's one of the reasons we've been quietly working on a redesign of the site in the background for the past few months; it will bring (among other improvements) full mobile compatibility to every page. Optimistically, I would say that I hope the redesign will be live in about a month. But realistically, it may be a few months yet. In the meantime, the site is more-or-less restricted to desktop use, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Works well for me, definitely has something to do with screen resolution on phones.

Daniel • 2 years ago

Actually, it works well now because the redesign I mention in the comment you just replied to was rolled out! In fact, we released that redesign update for the site in November 2019.

According to logicalincrements table of computer components, which grade would you recommend building to play this game? Would you get one part that is better than the others? Do you think it would be able to support other major "console" games? Thanks for the write up. Sincerely, new guy.

If you're just aiming for ordinary 60+ FPS at 1080p with high settings, then the tier which most closely matches that example build from the article above is the 'Very Good' tier of the table. But you'll find that the relevant example build in the article above is less expensive, as it pairs the GPU from the 'Very Good' tier with a lower-tier CPU. But regardless, either of those builds would make for an excellent 1080p gaming machine across numerous titles.

What kind of specs should one have to get 144fps solid on 1080p?

Daniel • 4 years ago

For getting a consistent 144+ FPS in Apex Legends at 1080p with High settings, we would recommend building with at least an RTX 2080 or a Radeon VII for the GPU, paired with something like an R7 2700X, i7-8700K, or i7-9700K CPU.

Danny • 4 years ago

What do you think about an XFX Radeon VII with an R5 3600x? Would those go well together to get solid 144fps

Daniel • 4 years ago

Depends on the resolution. At max settings with those parts, yes to 144+ FPS in Apex Legends at 1080p, no to 144+ FPS in Apex Legends at 1440p.
