Payday + Battlefield : D

CS:GO + Payday + Battlefield?

Marco W • 11 years ago

Well aint a true battlefield game sry

John • 11 years ago

What makes this not a "true battlefield game"?
Battlefield was once known for large maps, but they now focus on just as many close quarters city maps. It would be possible to argue those smaller city-type maps are even more popular. Just look for the Operation Metro and Operation Locker 24/7 servers.
This game could simply be capitalizing on that trend.

Marco W • 11 years ago

http://www.gametracker.com/... sorry your wrong. Most of them are full out warfare. ;)

John • 11 years ago

I think you may be missing the point.
I am not trying to imply there would not be any large maps. You just have to consider the locations. Look at Siege of Shanghai, Flood Zone, or Dawnbreaker. If you replace the vehicles in those maps with the ones shown above in this blog, then you could not tell the difference in how it would play. With minor changes, some of the other maps could be the same way. Not many of them are "full out warfare" on extra large maps with several tanks and attack helicopters on both sides.
So, I would challenge you again to answer: What makes this not a "true Battlefield game"?

Marco W • 11 years ago

Please watch them again: http://www.gametracker.com/...http://www.gametracker.com/...
I could list many others. Its battlefield, not jetfield, not helifield nor infafield. Its Battlefield.

pistolWick • 11 years ago

Um, 3 of the top 5 are only Locker.. You are proving his point, not yours.

HalcyonXI • 11 years ago

Am I the only one seeing a bunch of servers where its just Metro/Locker only? The game is being developed by Visceral "supposedly". They had Issac Clake's Advanced Suit helmet featured as an easter egg in EndGame back in BF3.

Anon • 11 years ago

I'd prefer it if they would change the name to something else so that people don't go nuts over it not being a true Battlefield game, because it could really work out well if they get this right and we don't want people whining over the name.

John • 11 years ago

It is an interesting debate. Use Battlefield in the title for name recognition, and you risk people taking the definition "battlefield" a bit too literally.
Either way, I am looking forward to it. I hope it turns out well no matter what they decide to name it.

Mr__fishy • 11 years ago

I think that EA wants to capture the entire battlefield fan-base to increase their sales, i mean come on its EA. Even if it isnt a true battlefield game, throwing battlefield in its title grabs the attention of thier huge fan base.

Dave N • 11 years ago

Operation Metro is hardly a popular map. It's played because it's in rotation. It's as unbalanced as a map can be. Whichever side spawns outside, wins. Operation Locker at least you have outside routes and nooks you can sneak by if you get caught at the choke points. The rest of the maps, and I play them all, are all open maps with areas of close quarters.
This "Hardline" should be called, "Grand Theft Auto - Bring out the big guns." It clearly is not worthy of the BF Title as it is NOT a battlefield. It's cops and robbers. No way around that. No true BF fan (IMHO) would purchase this unless they're GTA fans...which, I'm not. That's one down.

Mr__Fishy • 11 years ago

Really its a tough call right now since we know almost nothing about it. If it is a CoD-like shooter, with close quarters and most of the game determined by who has their gun up first, then no battlefield fans will even touch it, and that bad for sales. I trust EA and visceral to make a game thats similar enough to true battlefield games that they can pull sales. After all what else does EA care about?

Kasual7 • 11 years ago

Couldn't agree more, I think this game (if well made) will surely appeal to those close quarter type of players, I loved the aftermath and close quarter DLC on BF3. I just don't like the idea of a Battlefield game every year with a premium price aside. And it is frighteningly reminiscent of a certain Activision who divided the COD franchise between 2 studios, in the beginning Modern Warfare and then Black Ops.

For years EA tried so hard to compete with COD, they might have their shot there.

Battlefield is a sinking ship, and its time to abandon it.

BetaFailed_4 • 11 years ago

But all captain(s) SHOULD always go down with the ship. We were the supporters of the game, so we will sink with it. BF4 may have been a horrible, horrible launch, but I know that the next game will be better. Have hope, and if the new game's launch is shitty, then it doesn't matter because the stock exchange will sue the shit out of EA. All's well ends well.

Anders 'Avo' Lauritsen • 11 years ago

Since BF3 I hoped that BF4 would be a better version of BF3.. Which it is not.. Why have hope in BF5 when they have failed us the last 2 times? My thrust to EA has jumped out of the chopper without a parachute.

Marq • 11 years ago

O and all the images of guns r taken from other games

SjizzleBizzle • 11 years ago

Wow smartass, they wont put a gun model for a other game in bf4

Stasiek • 11 years ago

Smells like a free to play for me ...

TRC • 11 years ago

Now that you mention it, it seems possible and now im scared

BetaFailed_4 • 11 years ago

Jesus, just imagine the horror. Imagine that you would have to buy weapons, vehicles, levels, maps, DLCs, AND AMMO with real-life money. BUYING AMMO FOR GOD'S SAKE! OH THE HORROR!

CaRDiaK • 11 years ago

Thought the same. Looks too cartoony. Like a Team Fortress 2 meets Battlefield Heroes. Probably designed to play like Counter Strike. What a lovechild this could turn out to be.

-El_Greeko- • 11 years ago

Looks too cartoony? Have you seen the concept art? Looks authentic (realistic) to me. + Why would they do that when they've got one of the best engines out there?

Commando_ZA • 11 years ago

What makes you say that its a free to play game?

Daemon • 11 years ago

Alot the weapons and everything Srsly "Thieves" I think it's gonna be F2P

Commando_ZA • 11 years ago

Ah ok.

Fyasko • 11 years ago

This isn't a battlefield game, they need to change the name

Stor Salamien • 11 years ago

Battle of Dutyfield.

Qluxzz • 11 years ago

swipe_06 • 11 years ago

Sirinava • 11 years ago

TheZaz969 • 11 years ago

I like this new twist :D

Davor • 11 years ago

You were the chosen one,Battlefield.
Don't go to the dark side.

Don't become Call Of Duty with it's shitty ideas.

mamoru-sama • 11 years ago

Are those really the actual weapons? I can barely imagine a SWAT game without any M4 carbine.

Rendflex . • 11 years ago

Very nice find!

I came to think of something when I first read this. Could it be possible that this is somehow related to "Police Warfare"? The kickstarter crowdfunded game that was supposed to be made, but was cancelled with unknown reasons. They did say that they were going to return with news, but we still haven't heard anything.

John • 11 years ago

I have seen some people reference this kickstarter game, but no details of what it was. Any chance you remember the original intent of the game? How it was going to play?

Rendflex . • 11 years ago

Here's the link to the kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com...

John • 11 years ago

Wanted to give you a heads-up that the Reddit post where I found your blog has an image link that contains a few of the weapon/accessories that you may have missed. It also shows a red medic bag, another type of needle, a gas mask, etc. You may want to check on it.
Good job on the blog updates.

Stor Salamien • 11 years ago

This is Call of Duty with vehicles.

-El_Greeko- • 11 years ago

That's nice, because you played it right?

Stor Salamien • 11 years ago

Yes, I work for Visceral.

Commando_ZA • 11 years ago

So prove it then.

Stor Salamien • 11 years ago

That is against my NDA.

Commando_ZA • 11 years ago

Heheh good excuse.
