Gosh! When we have a sudden flow of news followed by a spree of silence, it kills me! It makes me hungry for more!
Oh, well... The addition of Ian Malcolm and the description of this Lockwood character seem to convey the notion that the idea of dinos being used as weapons, at least as a significant part of the main plot, won't be happening. To me, even if this is hinted at or has not been completely dropped, it won't be the most part of JW2, and that makes me happy. There seems to be much more involved in this sequel than just the idea of weaponized dinos or dinos being used in wars. What a relief! From the drops of information we've been getting, the plot of the new movie seems to be much denser than the previous one. The second trilogy appears to be headed towards a building tension which will peak and be solved at JW3. Add to that the gift we've been given of Bayona directing this film and I'm pretty confident. Can't wait for the first trailer.
I really hope they don't just stop at JW3
I know, right? To me, they could release a JP movie a year. Sometimes I think it'd be best if Disney bought the rights of the story, as they did with Star Wars, and maybe they'd come up with a dozen spin offs and yearly JP films for us to feast on. lol
Agreed. Jurassic park is a hugely popular franchise. It should be treated like Star Wars with yearly movies. 3 years is too long in between.
Agree with you. Nonetheless, I know we'll have to make do with whatever they decide to give us, be it with three/four year hiatus between movies or, even worse, 14 years! ; )
Ok, here's a theory: Lockwood worked with Hammond to pioneer the genetic technology in the begining. When they suceeded, Hammond cut and run, ousting Lockwood from Ingen and building his ill fated park. Lockwood in the meantime founds his own company; Biosyn.
He pays off Nedry to steal back the tech he helped to create.
That would explain why we haven't heard his name yet and answer some questions from the first film... Well, that's my theory anyway.
That can actually be used as plothole solution for all of the movies:
- Lockwood/BioSyn people do some sabogage/hostile takover on SS Venture causing ships crew dead and T-Rex escape
- Lockwood/BioSyn pays Billy Brennan / offers Kirbys a large amount of money for raptor eggs.
- LockWood/BioSyn raids Isla Sorna and other islands in order to capture some specimen
- LockWood/BioSyn hires Hoskins as their intel at Jurassic World
Damn that is a very interesting theory!
The information we're getting keeps getting better and better. Truly pulling for this film to resonate with me in a way 'World' just didn't.
Wow, to find out they are partners and not rivals sounds even more interesting. I really hope he is a protagonist in the film, he was great on American Horror Story. Now that we know Ian is back, I wonder if they ever meet and what there dynamic would be. So many more questions have been raised, this is awesome.
Wow! I'm taken aback. Now I need to know the title of the film I'm excitedly waiting for!!!
I'm sure everyone has already heard of this, but another actor mentioned today that he is playing the role of a "submarine pilot" involving an "epic" sequence with aquatic dinosaurs. Sounds pretty awesome!
This movie is just getting better and better with each new news item.
Everything about it just screams AMAZING. I have a hard time believing this movie will be bad of mediocre. This has got to be epic!
Agreed. I'm loving this
uhhh...."Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and Jurassic World"? JP3 happened, people, and i loved it!
