I'm currently about to create my personal website using a Static Site Generator too, and host it on Github pages. However, what prompted your choice of Octopress over Middleman? I tried both very briefly and just gravitated towards Middleman but you may have better researched this issue.

I really like the theme. I am trying to apply things I've seen here. One question. When you put 'em' tag around part you want to emphasise in title. My question is how do you set it up in makdown? I am asking since I get the effect when I put it in title. But the problem is that 'em' tag markers also show up in chrome title of page.
