It's unhealthy to negotiate with terrorists. They will not change their aim. If they make peace, it's only to get closer like strungler snake when he realize that there is some nice (and stupid) treat to attack on. Sory but this prosess is a big fake.

Why the hell do we need this congress and its leader? The only thing he cares about is the interests of a thoroughly corrupt old man who has not yet been stabbed to death by his own subjects only thanks to the Israeli special services ... He could not have done anything stupider.

A complete waste of precious time to meet with one of the biggest antisemite and the terrorists leader to boot. Hope he meets the same fate of Saddam and Qaddafi and for that matter Nasrallah and Khammeini. Amen.

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, Libyan President Muamar Qaddafi, Lebanese Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khameini is deceased.

Until I'll learn what was the nature of the discussion I'm stopping my donations to WJC.

Lauder's meeting with Abbas/Abu Mazen, like the meeting between Former POTUS Carter and Hamas may be in violation of the Logan Act. And how does that meeting NOT violate the Logan Act? The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18
U.S.C. ยง 953, enacted January 30, 1799) is a United States federal law
that criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized American citizens with
foreign governments having a dispute with the United States.

The Palestinian Authority is NOT a "foreign government"; there is currently no State called Palestine.

Yochanan Mauritz Hummasti • 3 years ago

Yea no doubt; but with a little "creative linguistics" I could argue otherwise. For instance, it could be argued that because the PA receives recognition in many countries as a "foreign government" and (for the purposes of arguments sake) therefore since the US has a dispute with the PA (Pay to Slay policy outlawed by the Taylor Force Act) the Logan Act could apply.... In relationship to Carter meeting with Hamas, that is a different story: One could argue that Hamas as an extension of the MB which controls or administers/governs Gaza is an extension of the "All Palestine Government" which ruled Gaza from 1948 until 1959 when Egypt took over the territory.
In law, it all depends on recognition or non-recognition of the foreign government and the willingness to prosecute a Logan Act Violation. John Kerry is in violation of the Logan Act for meeting with Iranian Official Zarif...!
