But the aid is designed to provide Israel a military edge over its adversaries in exchange for Israel always coordinating its weaponry trade deals with USA, like for example not to sell it to China or South American rebels. That part you don't hear much about in USA. So, the aid just codifies the special relationship and eliminating it would be a signal that such relationship no longer exists. That would not be good.
