Honestly, I really have no idea. To me it’s absolutely insane to allow ANY moslem or group of moslems to have control over our Temple Mount. It has nothing to do with them, it is not in any way ‘holy’ to them, and they have no right to be there.
As I see it, they’re so busy trying to keep things at a level, that they pander to the damned moslems to try to stop the atrocities and to avoid any new ones. This of course doesn’t work, never has and never will. The only way to ensure no atrocities, is to wipe out the scum committing them.
Maybe they are hoping that having saudi there will act as some kind of buffer against something worse. They’re deluding themselves if that’s what they’re doing though. A moslem is a moslem is a moslem and NONE of them can be trusted.
Then you’ve got the rest of the world. Most countries see Israel as a suspect state, at least. The rest see it as downright evil. Can you imagine what Israel would have to put up with internationally if they booted the moslems off Temple Mount? Moslems are the world’s protected class. There is no act of hideous, total and pure evil they commit, that you won’t find some bunch of imbecilic a**holes and shills justifying and whitewashing.

The Temple Mount is seen by many, if not most people as the holiest place on earth, I believe. It plays such a massive part in Judaism and Christianity, and those who respect other people’s religions even if they don’t share them acknowledge it’s importance.
If you control that site, you are in a powerful position. I guess they’re playing a long game, control the site, control the religious narrative that comes out of it. This is ridiculous. Nowhere else does the presence of a mosque entitle another country or religious figures ownership rights or the rights to control a holy site in another country. Why is Israel continuing to indulge this for Islam? Islam has Mecca, Medina, Qom and other holy cities it claims.
