God gave The entirety of Israel to the Jews. No part EVER belonged to the invading palestians. Jerusalem belongs entirely to the Jews!

People have apparently forgotten that when the Jews lost the old city in 1948, the Jordanians blew up and destroyed every Temple and Synoguage in that area. Books, old schulptures, you name it; all was destroyed by the muslims. When Israel reclaimed the city in 1967, no islamic holy place was touched. The Chief Rabbi of Israel wanted to destroy the al-asqa mosque and begin the third Temple. But no, Israel tried to make peace by giving away things and the Temple Mount was one of them. What a disaster it was for the Jewish people, hell, for all non-muslims. When the Jordanians finally signed a peace agreement with Israel in the late 1980's, they made it clear they wanted NO part of the west bank. No sir. Israel can maintain control there; leave us OUT of it. Well, that the Israelis have done. If the arab world does not like it, well, 'suck it up, buttercup.' It is what it is....

GOOD thing the Chief Rabbi wasn't heeded and the Temple not started in what now appears, based on fairly recent archaeological findings, not unlike that road, showing that the "Temple Mount" we think of, where the abominations are, is probably actually the site of the former Antonia Fortress, and what is called the "west wall" was probably the west wall of that fortress/East wall of the Temple site. It wouldn't do to build God's Temple in the wrong place born of mistakes made due to the Roman desecration of the site, including the mount itself when they tore down the last Temple in '70 AD.

Wow, thank you. This is new info for the old man. I visited the site in 2015 and collected some small stones from the destruction to bring home for some friends. I also brought a couple for my parents who never got to go to Jerusalem. Figured that since they never went there, I would bring a part of the old Temple to them. So much great history. What you are saying is incorrect. The Arabs have been making that claim in order to try to delegitimize the Jewish history of Jerusalem, but there is no truth to what they are saying. There is no doubt, whatsoever that the Temples were where we say they were.

A lot of people choose not to recognize some of those facts. What the Israeli archeologists are finding is that the original Temple, built by Solomon, wasn't where the second Temple that was built by Herod. So much as been destroyed and rebuilt over that it truly is hard to exactly where either Temple stood. The new road leading from the pools of purification, to the second Temple was built back in Herod's day. What I find exciting are the excavated areas even further down to the original city built by David. But what you say about the Western Wall may or may not be true. Time will tell the tale, in the end.

Actually, that's precisely what they did in the late 6th and early 7th centuries; Mecca wasn't Muslim 'til Muhammad returned from Media with an army and forced conversion, killing all the Jews who lived there as well as anyone else who refused to convert or be enslaved.
