If Ganz and Liberman and the left join forces, it will make Omar and Tlaib very happy. You really believe they would make for a better, stronger, safer, or more secure Israel? If your answer is "yes," you had better think again!

Pupman • 4 years ago

Unfortunately Netanyahu did not do the job enough. He had three years with Trump. He should have annexed all of Judea and the Shomron already. He should have made cheaper housing and been well into settling the entire area with Jews. What a legacy he would have had! Why did he wait for an election to make his partial promise. All words! Now he mightn't get the chance at all.

Don't expect Ganz to do any better. He might, in fact, be quite a bit worse, if he holds by or joins with the left. And Liberman never worried about anyone or anything except Liberman.

If the left-wing lunatics get their way, the two-state delusion would emerge its ugly and insane head again. This would cause a weaker Israel and more suffering!

Face it. Opportunities lost! If that comes to pass, count Netanyahu as a disastrous failure for the past few years.

Why are ARABS in the Israel election? They are not Israelis or Jewish

so it's the envious Avigdor Lieberman who won the election with 8%! HOW you understand: there is something wrong in the proportional!
TEL AVIV, SEPTEMBER 17 - Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu would not have a majority to form a new government. According to the exit polls of Channel 13, the right-wing coalition would count on 54 seats in the Knesset, the center-left one led by Benny Gantz's Blu-Bianco would have 58 seats, however insufficient to reach the threshold of 61 out of 120. 'Israel Beitenu' of the secular nationalist Avigdor Lieberman is thus decisive for each coalition with its 8/10 seats.

If there are gains by the Arab parties, you can thank the low voter turn out among Jews. That's the problem with democracy. You get the government you ask for -- or the government others ask for if you stay home. ;-)

But I really don't see any value in the numbers above. Can we get a reporter with a basic knowledge of statistics? Give me the percentages of the respondents supporting each party, and then give me the standard error; aka margin of error. That will give me a range with about 95% certainty. From that we can calculate the approximate and likely range of seats each party may receive.

What will Israel do when the Arab population approaches 50%-60% and can take over the country legally and democratically?

I lived in Israel when the Arab population was less than 10%. The Arabs have large families and they teach their children to hate Jews and Israel as they take all the privileges of living in Israel.

Photobug55 • 4 years ago

The Arab reproduction rate has been in decline for quite a while. The Jewish reproduction rate is on the rise. You are relying on old demographic data.

Of note, the rise in the Jewish reproduction rate is largely due to the haridim. Now that presents a different .potential population picture all together.

Jack de Lowe • 4 years ago

Although the Haradi population increase remains high, it is NOT true that the Jewish reproduction rate is only due to the Haradim. The average non-Haradi Jewish family in Israel today has more than 3 children per family. It is the highest reproduction rate in the Western world. At the same time, it should be noted that the number of children being born in Israeli Arab families has been declining for more than a decade.

Photobug55 • 4 years ago

I said largely due, not only due. Yes, the reproduction rate of secular Israelis is up, but the Haradim even more so. The current rates have Haradim eventually making up the majority of Jewish Israelis, which has some worried. Too many Haradim live outside the main economy, often living off public stipends so they can spend their days in their yeshiva. I am totally in favor of Torah study, but to have a significant percentage of the population not contributing to the national economy is a problem. Supporting the best students -- OK. The others need to learn how to make a living. Few Haradim serving in the IDF is a problem as well building resentment on the part of other Jews. It's very dangerous.

Enzo Nahum • 4 years ago

You are absolutely right as far as the natality of the Arabs is concerned. Israeli Jews altogether are producing more babies than the Israeli Arabs. However in Israel the demographic picture is changing not only because of the Haredi reproduction rate. Also the seculars are producing at least 3 babies per woman. On this subject I recommend reading an extremely good book by David Goldman entitled "How Civilizations Die (And Why Islam Is Dying Too)".

Hell yes [Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Authority terrorists, etc.] but at least a liberal Democrat has a favorable left-wing press

gerald m. serlin • 4 years ago

Apparently Israel, like the US, is severely divided and there appears to be no change in sight. What is needed is for a change in the rules, allowing only three, or four parties, based upon election results to participate in the final outcome, with all others put on the sideline until the next election. I don't know if that is possible under the Israeli Constitution, but that is my suggestion.

Pupman • 4 years ago

What is needed is a change in outlook and ideology to realize that liberal and left means death and destruction to innocent Jews.

What is needed is a realization of right and wrong.
Right is doing what it takes to save innocent Israeli lives and wrong is to sacrifice Jews to save multitudes of the enemy when there is that alternative (and there often is).
Right is to permit an enemy to stay in your home while he plots against you. Wrong it to stop Jews from building settlements on their own land.

When will they EVER learn?

DiaminSilber • 4 years ago

Change is in sight, the demographic development will take care of that.

Andrew Panken • 4 years ago

We have only two major parties in the USA and look at what that has brought upon us over the years which has basically been a disaster with both parties in bed with each other that only recently Pres. Trump has changed that a bit.

Mark Lewis Brecker, Esq. • 4 years ago

IF ONLY 3 OR 4 [top vote getters] COULD RUN, IT WOULD HAVE TO BASED ON THE PRIOR ELECTION WHICH MEANS NONE NEW COULD EVER ENTER AS IN THE PRIOR ELECTION THEY [obviously] RECEIVED NO VOTES.

gerald m. serlin • 4 years ago

I guess I was not clear. Three or four of the parties in the current election, is what I was thinking.

Mark Lewis Brecker, Esq. • 4 years ago

BUT HOW JUDGE THE 3-4 IN THE CURRENT ELECTION UNLESS HOW THEY DID IN THE LAST ELECTION [in the old days, when we had a King, he {or she} could have so designatee]. OTHER THAN THE LAST ELECTION, HOW WOULD AND/OR OUGHT THOSE 3-4 BE SELECTED?

gerald m. serlin • 4 years ago

From the three or four highest vote getters in the current election.

Mark Lewis Brecker, Esq. • 4 years ago

GERRY, YOU ONLY GET the three or four highest vote getters in the current election AFTER [that"s, again, "AFTER"] AN ELECTION [where there will be a multitude of parties]. IF YOU MEAN THAT IN THE NEXT ELECTION ONLY THOSE WHO GET THE 3 [or 4] HIGHEST VOTES CAN RUN, FINE, SORT OF. BUT THEN IN THE NEXT ELECTION/ELECTIONS YOU'D ONLY HAVE THOSE SAME 3 [or 4] BECAUSE NO NEW PARTY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ANY VOTES. GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT AND IF YOU FIND A WAY OUT OF THIS CUNUNDRUM [sp?] I'D LOVE TO HEAR IT.

Gorba • 4 years ago

Israel will regret it if Netanyahu is not re-elected. They need a strong leader, not an apologist.

Elliot E • 4 years ago

I guess you are not a fan of Ha'aretz or the New York Times? Or perhaps of higher education?

Both are fake news, anti Semitic too. What's you point?

Elliot E • 4 years ago

Is not your real name Sebastion Gorka? Acolyte of Orban? Widely seen by both mainstream thinkers and conservatives as a fringe player with your PhD thesis, described as "inept"? "Liars"? "Haters"? Sir, your hero in the US, Trump has lied over 12,000 times on the record in less than 3 years in office, his counterpart in Israel, Netanyahu is under three indictments. I welcome your opprobrium

Gorba • 4 years ago

Quatsch!

LtcHoward • 4 years ago

Mark Lewis Brecker, Esq. • 4 years ago

HEY, AIN'T NOTIN IN STONE. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN [once the dust settles].

DiaminSilber • 4 years ago

The new election, due to Liberman, did already cost Israel 2 billion NIS.

Mark Lewis Brecker, Esq. • 4 years ago

BUT THOSE 2 BILLION WENT, BY AND LARGE, INTO ISRAELI POCKETS [who could then do many things: take family to dinner, by products, etc. which circulates into more and more israeli pockets]. NOT THAT WILD SPENDING IS GOOD ECONOMICS, BUT IT IS NOT AS IF 2 BILLION SHECKLES WENT DOWN THE TOILET. GO YAMEENAH!

DiaminSilber • 4 years ago

You are certainly right, especially if one considers an additional day off for Israelis, which comes free in the 2 billion NIS 'election package'.
