The Deal of The Century would be NO DEAL. No negotiations with Hamas, PLO, Hezbollah, or any organization that seeks the death of Jews and Israelis. If they want Death...oblige them!

"“If I’m not going, do you know what’s best for me better than I do?” asked Erekat..."

What would be best for all of us is if the lungs which we Americans provided to Erekat a couple of years ago, suddenly started to be rejected by his body. Why we saved that evil man's life is beyond me...

Muslims don't appreciate life, nor the gift of life. If the US thought this gift would be appreciated and cause Erekat to work with the US, they hopefully see the error of their ways. A brain and heart transplant might have helped, but probably wouldn't have been worth it. What hope is there when a people cling to a cult of death as their only path? And check this error of logic - many people think that having an iftar dinner with Muslims will advance peace. Rather they should never forget that even a pair of healthy lungs and saving a Muslim's life did nothing to advance peace. It that failed, there is nothing that will succeed. Islam must be eliminated, struck down as a failed and death-giving ideology.

PLO has never negotiated anything other than complete removal of all Jews from Middle East so.. yeah no deal at all - b/c no deal will give them the results they want- in meantime they can endlessly beg for money from EU and others while pretending people born in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, are 'refugees" from 1948. Dissolve the farce called UNWRA.

And Israel needs to remove them from Judea Samaria and Gaza (given for peace that brought none)

Well, certainly many people feel free to decide for Israel what is best for her, without asking for any input from Israel or Israelis; so this is more of the same, only this time neither of the sides actually involved will be participating. One can point out that Israel was excluded apriori by the very choice of venue, while the Pal. choose not to come. I believe Trump means well, but am doubtful that anything positive will come of it.

Another opportunity to miss another opportunity.

Stay as you are Mr Erikat. No future!

It seems to me that the entire notion of a "Palestinian negotiator" has become an oxymoron. The answer to Erekat's question "... do you know what’s best for me better than I do?" is, apparently, "Yes, we do!" At least, we know better than he seems to do that what Palestinian Arabs need is a normal life with jobs and education and housing and security, just like Jews have been providing for themselves and have tried to allow others to do likewise. What Arab Palestinians do *not* need and cannot have is political control over any part of the Jewish land allocated west of the Jordan river in the San Remo agreements of 1920. If any Palestinian Arabs wish to live in an Arab Palestinian state, they must relocate to Jordan in eastern Palestine, which was allocated to them by the same agreements and is four times larger than tiny Israel. Consequently there is really nothing to negotiate except, perhaps, who will be empowered to manage the economic programs which provide these social services. The PA has already a terrible track record of mismanaging funds that have been provided to them in the past, and their security record is no better. Their educational system has been destroyed by the false nationalist narrative that advocates murder and self-destruction. It almost seems that just about anybody could do a better job than they have done for the past 50-70 years. So the deal really should be to disband all prior Arab and EU organizations that have failed to improve these social conditions and to hire some outside contractor to design and administer a suitable set of programs for these social services and to manage their funding in a transparently-accountable manner. Clearly Palestinian Arabs need someone to show them how it needs to be done properly, and to train some of them how to become capable of maintaining it. They could have taken lessons from Israel, but they have certainly not done so.

You Are Dreaming. Corrupt Unelected AbASS Will Never Agree To Your Proposition, As All The AID Money Which Goes In Their Pockets. For Them Is Best To Carry On Fighting ForEver To Get The Aid Money

Albert Reingewirtz • 4 years ago

The PA aims to have more and more Shaids. Israel should oblige it by passing a law that anyone wearing a mask covering one's face gets shot in that mask at first sight.

c0mm0nsensical • 4 years ago

But that wouldn't be "democratic". Israel believes in a fallacy that democracy is a god. NO, it is a failed ideology that will bring those who practice it to ruin.

Erica Ling • 4 years ago

Not failed. Abused. Exploited. By the very peoples who cannot impose it in their own crappy states.

Erekat: Our people plan to accept a deal in "the next century",
which will not be nearly as generous as the one offered today.

He actually made me laugh- clever! The deal of the next century. It's cute.

Henderson_m • 4 years ago

There is nothing cute in this. Arabs are everything but cute. It's extremely stupid as they are ! It's full of spite like it always is. And don't be so fast in assuming they found this "laughable" statement on their own. Someone like Obama whistled it to their clogged ears.

Erica Ling • 4 years ago

He seems too busy raking in on the strength of his ex presidency. He could not care less about the Palestinians. No one actually cares about them. But their only value is to be used as pawns, to grab alliances with oil states, create trade deals, buy off terrorists, line pockets as bogus NGOs and charities. In that instance the Palestinians ARE victims---of their own stupidity and the world's cupidity.
