You can believe in fairies if you wish - I believe in the God that I know and can communicate with.

I did not say that God wrote the Bible - I said that God was the "author" - He used about 40 men to do the writing over a period of almost 2,000 years and living over 1,600 miles apart and yet all retained the same theme without contradiction.

As you say, Jews believe the Torah which used to refer to the 5 books of Moses but in recent years I have known many Jews refer to some of the Prophets and writings (Wisdom Books) as Torah which leads me to believe that the Old Testament is generally accepted as Torah.

As you say, there are many different versions of the Bible and they all differ in some aspects in order to "Copywrite" them - this of course renders most of them unreliable and NOT the pure Word of God - even though they contain "some" of the Word of God.

The most "reliable" English translation is the King James Authorised Version which was translated in 1611. Some of the words are "archaic" but a good Oxford English dictionary solves any problems.

There are about 335 Prophesies in the Old Testament relating to Messiah and everyone of them have been fulfilled in Jesus. There are dozens of Prophesies in the Old Testament relating to the Jews being "gathered" by God and brought back into the Promised Land. Just 100 years ago nobody would have believed in the "rebirth" of Israel - but God KEPT his promise.

You are very "privileged" to be born a Jew - God has "chosen" your nation to be "His people" and Gentiles are "envious" of your selection - some will HATE you (because of envy) and others who know the Jewish Messiah will love you as a brother. Wear your "badge" of "selection" with honour - and remember that it is the God who loves you that has "chosen" you for His Glory.

Thank you for your reply - All of those Commentaries I agree with - but they all answer with a "Christian" perspective. i.e. A "dynasty forever" could only refer to Messiah the "Son of David".

However "Messiah Son of David" HAS to be a MAN, yet Psalm 110:1 says "YHWH said unto Adonai sit thou on My right hand whilst I make thine enemies thy footstool" - clearly a Messianic text thus Messiah must also be Adonai. Therefore Messiah MUST also be "GOD and MAN" personafied as the "Son of David" AND the "Son of God". Christians call this the "Hypostatic Union".

What I wanted really was what a "Jewish perspective" would be on this "Theological conundrum". I realise that this is a huge question to ask anyone but the Rabbie's must have come accross this problem before - but I cannot find any answer.

You are a "natural branch" but I am a "grafted-in branch" and therefore all my knowledge is from a Christian point of view. I really wanted to know what modern Jews thought about the "Messianic Prophesies".

Modern day Jews expect Messiah to be a "man" (I think), yet many of those Prophesies show Messiah to be Divine as well as a man.

Surely Judaism MUST have some thoughts, or teachings, about that.

I appreciate your Mathematical calculations on the chances of Messiah fulfilling 300 prophises and am totally convinced that Jesus is truely the Jewish Messiah and also I believe that He is the 3rd Temple not made with "mens hands". He is the "stone" spoken of in Daniel that destroys ALL of men's Empires.

I think that practice is horrible on young girls and disgusting on children. I am also amazed that you know about it.

Personally,
I disagree with any form of sexual education in schools - it is the
parents job to instruct their children, if necessary, on things
regarding sexual function and sexual organs.

Parents "own" and are
responsible for bringing up healthy happy children - NOT THE STATE.
Personally, I prefer "Home Education" and everybody that I know who has
"Home Educated" their own children the children, now as adults, are very

I realise that many people will disagree with me - but I part "home schooled" both my children because both were floundering about at the bottom of the "C Stream" so we took them both from Government Schools and brought them on with "Home Schooling" material which we imported from the USA because the material was not available in the UK back in the 1970's.

My son is now a Financial Director of a large International Company and my Daughter was a Lawyer (but now a housewife).

Home schooling is now the largest growing Educational sector in the UK. And there is a wide variety of helpful material available in the UK.

YOUR child is YOUR responsibility - NOT the Governments.

Yea, sadly Public schools seem to have becme an assembly line of young people And the things I read that are happening in some public schools around the country are truly disgusting.

I treat EVERY individual as I find them. When I meet a "foreigner" in the UK I greet them and welcome them to the UK. I do not ask them what their "Religion" is, although sometimes it is easy to guess. When I lived in Uganda "Black people" used to welcome me even though it was obvious that I was a "foreigner".

THe Israelites were COMMANDED to treat "foreigners" in their land with respect and I feel that that COMMAND also applies to Christians.

We had "horrible" crimes being committed in the UK BEFORE the influx of Moslems - ans those people would have loosley have called themselves Atheists - but that does not instill in me a hatred for ALL Atheists.
