The latest Russian missile
.
Data on "Oreshnik" has appeared: 45 Hiroshimas, and to Brussels - in 17 minutes
.
The new Russian ballistic missile "Oreshnik" can deliver nuclear charges with a capacity of up to 900 kilotons, and the maximum flight range is 5.5 thousand kilometers. This was reported by the portal Obyasnyaem.rf.

“In a nuclear version, the Oreshnik can deliver charges with a total capacity of 900 kilotons (45 Hiroshimas),” — the authors of the Telegram channel explain.
The missile's flight time from the Kapustin Yar test site to NATO headquarters in Brussels will be 17 minutes. It will reach the Ramstein Air Base in Germany in 15 minutes, and the US missile defense base in Redzikowo, Poland, in 11 minutes.

The new missile can reach speeds of up to Mach 10 (12,380 kilometers per hour) and can carry a warhead weighing up to one and a half tons. The missile can only be shot down at the initial stage of its flight, so it is launched from a base deep in Russia. Once it reaches its target, it cannot be intercepted by any modern means.

"The missile can only be shot down at the initial stage of its flight, so it is launched from a base deep in Russia."

Actually no. Even if the western AD was situated right next to the launch site, there would not be enough time for the western AD interceptor to do anything. The Russian missile would be accelerating much faster than the western AD could and leave it in the dust.

General Keith Kellogg, just appointed special envoy to Ukraine and Russia.

This is the dualistic theory stuck in the head of Washington that Ukraine and Russia can be treated as similes, if not equals. Give a little, get a little nonsense that US calls diplomatic efforts.

Kellogg knows only what has been fed to him from ISW and his Pentagon ties. He has half the story and it's 99% bullshit. So, he has a very steep learning curve to travel before he can be effective in extricating Trump's administration from the Big Muddy of Ukraine. In fact, since Pete Seeger wrote that song (Big Muddy), we can rename the disaster for the US in Ukraine as the Huge Muddy, especially if Trump expects a win from Kellogg's efforts.

Kellogg should ask for a 5 minute visit to Gerasimov's Net Central to see the truth in real time, fed by 1000 drones along the 1000 km front. That's all a man with his combat experience will need to understand the situation. Then he can suggest to Trump to pull out and leave the war to NATO on its own. Save lives, save money, shut down the logistics and ask the Russians to be kind to the survivors.

He doesn't even need to take a hotel room to stay overnight. He can travel to Russia, then over to Ukraine, tell them the US is leaving, good luck, and fly back to Washington all in one day.

A few drone video feeds in 4K color of the hundreds of dead Ukies in nearly every hot spot along the front will SitRep him as much as he needs.

5 Minutes of the reality of the SMO, and maybe a quick visit to a Rostec MIC factory to see the three-shift productivity of weapons will be enough to enlighten the General.

Give him a taste of Russian ice cream and gallon of his favorite to bring back to Trump. It can be shared when he briefs the new NSC and JCS on the utter futility to wage war against Russia.

Jesus man... this guy is a neocon..

"Second, Americans are rightly concerned that arms and aid sent to Ukraine is arms and
aid taken away from an impending confrontation with Communist China, whether over
Taiwan or some other flashpoint."

Then he calls Putin a "dictator" and states the Bucha "massacre" by the Russian forces.

Seriously, anything this guy says has to be taken with huge grain of salt as his testimony aligned precisely with the warmongers... as far as Javelins sent to Ukraine by Trump... remember that Trump halted 400M of aid and only sold them some 47M of Javelins.... which are purely short range tactical weapons.

Selling Javelins hardly makes Trump a warmonger... it just makes him a deal maker. In no significant way could the Ukraine attack Russia with those, it was purely defensive and likely meant to get the warmongers off his back... recall the Deep State was extremely active against Trump during his first term.

This guy Kellog is just a neocon type of guy... He knows, K.N.O.W.S that there was no way for the US to send any help to the Ukraine that could defeat the Russian Army.... You see, the whole point of the Neocons is exactly the opposite of what he claims... not to end the war, but to keep it going because that's where the profits are.

And the locale where that "testimony" was given... jeez... that's part of the Neocon-MIC Central Management. Those senators are bought out... remember how US Senators are allocated/approved/appointed to the various Senate Committees.... they are bought out, their job is to approve, not to oversight. So when this guy Kellogg gave that speech, it was all done for pre-approved propaganda.

Not even. No need for the General to go anywhere. Heck, no need for a General. Who cares about a General on this? It just doesn't matter.

Just have Trump make the phone call to Putin and Farage (*), then have Vance make the calls to Z, NATO HQ and the Germans. Have the Navy Base Guam Traffic Court Commissioner make the phone call to Starmer... no need to waste time on anyone flying around the World.

It's simple. American Citizens don't care about the Ukraine, it's not our problem, it has never been our problem. If Blackrock and Multinational Hedge Funds got into the Ukraine and if the Western Globalists Oligarchs and Bankers lose a trillion dollars, it's not really our problem.

Sorry. You say Russia wants damages? OK, take their investments in Ukraine, go for it, it won't affect us one penny.

We elected Trump to stop the War. He can appoint whoever he wants to... but ultimately Trump's job is to "end the war in 24 hours".... or rather "end the American involvement in that war in 24 hours". And for that he doesn't need no stinkin' aids.. He's got a phone, a pen, paper and the backing of the majority of the American population.

I guess you guys over in Russia look at it differently since you are truly active into this... but remember, from the US point of view... it's purely a two sided domestic affair... the "elites", who have a bone in there, screwed us into it, but the "majority", who has no skin in that game, is stepping back in to stop it.

Besides, we (wife and I) just reshuffled our 401Ks to emphasize small and mid cap companies... meaning, companies that do business mostly within the US. We did wonderfully during Trump's first term. Trump is a business man and Wars are financially not a good idea.

Treat the Ukraine War like he dealt with building in NYC. Just make a deal that is win-win... And Z and the Globalists are simply not in it.

(*) Farage is a good guy and if the Brits do have another General Election soon, he'd be a good one to have on board. Not because the UK is a Global Power, but because it can really hose things up... and I do like Scotch whiskey.

Large animals are the most dangerous in their death throes... The current Deep State and their Globalist pay masters know they're gonna lose control very soon.

So, they're trying their hardest to stay in power any way they can... and if they can't... well, nobody will be able to stay in power either.

In the US we have a saying: "It's my ball and if I can't play I'm taking it home".

The current big issue in the US with our presidential electoral system is how long it takes for the president elect to take office. IMHO, it should be no more than two weeks. As it is, the losing party can cause a lot of grief... remember how Pelosi rammed through Obamacare at the waning days of their -lame majority- session of Congress?

ASTANA (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokaev signed a joint statement on Wednesday, pledging to deepen strategic partnership in the context of a new global order.
https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
The document was signed after the presidents met in the Kazakh capital of Astana, where Putin arrived on Wednesday for a two-day official visit.

Following the talks, Russia and Kazakhstan adopted a protocol on the resumption of a bilateral agreement on trade and economic cooperation that renews Russian oil and oil product exports to Kazakhstan.

Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev exchanged the protocols during a signing ceremony, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that he had discussed the interaction between Russia and Kazakhstan in detail with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and exchanged views on international and regional issues.

"We discussed in detail a wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral interaction in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, exchanged views on the most pressing regional and international problems," Putin said.

Putin said that the increasing use of national currencies between the two countries protects operations from external influences.

"The share of national currencies in mutual settlements accounts for almost 90%, which allows to shield commercial operations between the two countries from the negative impact of external factors, including political conditions," Putin said.

The Russian president also said that Kazakhstan had received an invitation to obtain the status of a partner country in BRICS.

Increase of Mutual Payments in National Currencies

Putin and Tokayev welcome the increase in the share of mutual payments in national currencies, which will contribute to strengthening financial sovereignty, according to the joint statement released on Wednesday.

"The parties welcome the increase in the share of bilateral transactions in national currencies, which in the long term will contribute to strengthening the financial sovereignty of the two countries," the statement said.

Russia to Increase Gas Supplies to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan

Russia will increase gas supplies to Uzbekistan via the territory of Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday following talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"Cooperation in the energy sector is developing systematically. Russian oil is sent to China via Kazakhstan... Gazprom really does supply gas to consumers in Kazakhstan without interruption... Since last year, gas from Russia has been pumped in transit through Kazakhstan to neighboring Uzbekistan - we will increase such supplies," Putin said.

In the ruins of Yuzhmash, our Oreshnik buried Zelensky's ballistic Palyanitsa

It seems that in Dnipro, Kiev tried to make a semblance of the high-precision Israeli AIR LORA complex out of ATACMS and F-16s donated by the United States

Our sensational missile strike with a hypersonic "Hazel" on the Dnieper (Dnepropetrovsk) Yuzhmash plant in Ukraine, which followed in the early morning of November 21, continues to be a leading topic of discussion not only in Russia, but also in the world. It seems that almost everything has been discussed. However, to this day, something very significant, in my opinion, remains in the shadow of public attention.

Namely, as our president announced in hot pursuit, Russia made an impressive attack with advanced weapons that have not yet been fully tested, and therefore have not been adopted by it.

And if the "Hazel" was not previously fully tested at the test sites and it was not known exactly what it was capable of, then there were serious risks in its combat use in Ukraine under such circumstances. They threatened our country, its Armed Forces and defense industry in case of failure, at least with serious reputational losses.

Hence the question: why was Moscow in such a hurry? And why was the huge Yuzhmash, which in Soviet times specialized in the production of intercontinental strategic and space missiles, chosen for the immediate real test of the Hazel Tree in combat conditions?

And here I would suggest paying attention to a few facts from Ukraine.

The first. "Next year or by the end of the year (2024 — "Joint Venture"), you will hear that we have a huge missile program, " Rustem Umerov, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, recently admitted.

Second. In October of this year, Vladimir Zelensky claimed that Ukraine conducted the first tests of its own ballistic missile. And a little later, on November 16, in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, he also said that tests of four types of ballistic missiles had begun in his country at once. Without specifying, however, what specific complexes we are talking about, or at what stage this work is being done.

And just a few days ago (and this is" third"), the American edition of The Wall Street Journal, clearly counting on an overseas audience, cited an important statement on this issue by Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Anna Gvozdyar.

According to her, in the "country 404 "" work is underway on more than one ballistic missile." But, they say, Kiev does not yet have enough financial resources to complete what it has begun.

To understand this cry for help, which was heard in the WSJ, probably follows the traditional way for dialogues between the United States and Kiev in recent years: "Good people in Washington, help anyone who can"…

The above facts could be treated as a common propaganda bluff, which the enemy leadership has responded to to the extreme in the last couple of years. But it is very likely that the enemy's real work on something really new and formidable for Russia has really begun.

It is possible that what Kiev expects to get in the end, and they will be called "Palyanitsa". Which we have long been announced on the other side of the front.

Otherwise, why would Gvozdyar ask the Americans for additional funding for the program to create its own Ukrainian ballistic missile? Does anyone think that the United States may not be aware of such a serious undertaking by Kiev? If it really exists, of course?

It is clear that due to the special delicacy of the topic, we cannot conclude anything definite on this subject. But we can make some assumptions. Including-and able, in my opinion, to explain a lot in the story of the crushing attack "Hazel" on "Yuzhmash".

Let's assume that Kiev is really actively working on creating a new missile weapon. If we make a mistake, it's easier for us.

The only place in this country where they know how and also know how to produce ballistic missiles is the former Soviet beauty and pride - Yuzhmash. A few years ago, specialists from the Pentagon's largest contractor, Northrop Grumman, showed up at this defense enterprise, which had been in disrepair for decades. Probably not empty-handed. And work in the former Dnepropetrovsk began to boil over.

As an interim result, the first Ukrainian operational-tactical complex "Grom-2" in two versions was released from the walls of Yuzhmash with the active assistance of Northrop Grumman shortly after the start of the SVO. With a firing range of 280 and 500 kilometers, respectively. So, after the intervention of the Americans, the work on which Ukraine has been struggling independently since 2003 was completed.

And the first Thunder-2 strikes on Crimea were recorded and confirmed by Russia. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, on March 30, 2023, Russian air defense systems shot down such a Ukrainian tactical missile for the first time over Feodosia.

It seems that the new brainchild of Yuzhmash was not very successful. Because the Armed Forces of Ukraine have never had dozens or hundreds of such ballistic missiles since then. We can assume: because Kiev and its allies wanted something more perfect and powerful. Necessarily — with a range that allows you to finish off to the Kremlin.

Isn't this the essence of the "huge missile program" that Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov solemnly promises to announce by the end of this year or at the beginning of 2025?

If we guessed right here, then I would venture to assume that Umerov and Zelensky were dreaming not just about a ballistic missile, but about an aeroballistic missile. That is, the one that was originally created for ground-based operations. And then redesigned for air launch from a combat aircraft.

Why is this and what does it give? This is easily understood by the example of the Israeli ground-to-ground quasi-ballistic operational-tactical missile system LORA (Long-Range Artillery), which was first shown at the Paris Air Show in 2007.

The declared range of which at that time did not exceed 430 kilometers with a minimum circular probable deviation of only 10 meters. The Israeli complex abroad for similar combat capabilities was immediately called an analogue of our Iskander .

But the Israelis subsequently adapted their LORA to the volleys fired from American F-16 multirole fighters. So AIR LORA ("Air Lora") was born.

Its main advantage in comparison with land — based analogues was the sharply increased range of combat use-up to 600 kilometers. Simply due to the fact that this rocket starts its independent flight not from zero speed, but from under the wing of a supersonic fighter that accelerated it to the maximum possible values. Yes, and it is no longer necessary to spend fuel for climbing the "Air Lora".

Kiev has been dreaming about its own LORA for a long time and continues to dream about it. There is information that back in November 2022, Zelensky in a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Yitzhak Herzog simply begged to supply Ukraine with such weapons.

Zelensky's chances of success seemed to be boosted by the fact that LORA had long since emerged in the former Soviet Union. After all, Azerbaijan became the first foreign customer of such a modern compex from Tel Aviv. Which, on the eve of the war for Nagorno-Karabakh, was terribly concerned about finding a counterweight to the Iskander-M division of the Iskander-M missile system with 9M723 missiles, which Russia supplied to Armenia in 2016.

Then the choice of Baku and stopped just on the Israeli OTRK LORA. And Azerbaijanis received them by 2018. And then they successfully used it during the beginning of hostilities, destroying, in particular, on October 2, 2020, the automobile bridge over the Akari River connecting the territory of Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.

But as far as we know, Israel has not provided Ukraine with such ballistic missiles.

The problem for Kiev is that Tel Aviv still takes a very cautious position in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. And he tries not to get involved in it directly. Even despite the intense pressure of the Americans on the Israelis.

Thus, most likely, the APU does not have LORA. And what is there? Yes, here they are, American ground-based ballistic ATACMS. And recently, the enemy began to massively beat deep into the territory of Russia. It flies, I must say, regularly and far enough. But not as far as Zelenskiy would no doubt like.

So, what should Kiev and Washington do? Follow the same path that Israel overcame with its land-to-land Loras. Try to teach the ATACMS already received by the Ukrainians to fly with the F-16. Moreover, a dozen such fighters have recently also been available in Kiev.

Technically, the task is probably simplified by the fact that both LORA and ATACMS rockets have almost the same mass. Approximately 1,600 kilograms each. So, the F-16s are both on the shoulder. And to provide American ammunition with "Israeli" accuracy and range of use is more a matter of appropriate modernization of the ATACMS software.

But the main thing is time, which is less and less in Kiev's hands, to at least try to reverse the Russian-Ukrainian front. There is simply no time for the enemy to invent something fundamentally new in terms of ballistic missiles. It's like the song: "I made it out of what was there." That is, they are trying their best to rivet a certain symbiosis of F-16 and ATACMS.

If so, then a significant part of such urgent work was definitely assigned to the designers and engineers of Yuzhmash. That's what happened in the workshops there. Do you allow it?

Then you definitely admit that our intelligence service has learned that such militaristic "works" in the former Dnepropetrovsk are nearing completion. Just: that's it…

They had to be thwarted at all costs. Here we are very handy and turned up almost ripe (but still — not to the end) in the bowels of our defense hypersonic "Hazel". Therefore, Moscow, ignoring all risks, gave the command to the military: "Hit!". Which was done with brilliance and just a hell of a roar.

Recall the near-miss assassination attempt by the young shooter in Butler, PA.
He had many highly encrypted DMs the US Intel services have not cracked.

Some think the ties from overseas that he clearly had were linked to the SBU and Zelensky.

If this still lingers as one possible link to the near-death experience of Trump, do you think he will send more money and more arms to Kiev?

Trump will want the Truth.

Trump and his family have been antagonistic before now (the transition) to Zelensky and to Kiev and the whole idea of a war against Russia.

Though the neocon elements he has appointed all would like more war, endless war, we have not heard from the group who oppose that policy.

I find it difficult to see how Trump will overlook a bullet that came about 2 millimeters from tearing apart his brain.

I also do not see how his children, Don Jr. in particular, would not pursue the Truth which the entire world assumes was an inside job instigated and motivated by the Ukies. The shooter was managed like a show dog to get those eight shots off the roof at Trump. And the dead end search for motive is in Europe.

At the least, Trump, with nothing to deal in talks with Putin, will leave the war to NATO.

He has bigger fish to fry in the ME and in China. He can win nothing in Ukraine, short term or long term.

And that bullet piercing his ear is a reminder every day, every time he combs his hair, 'tans' his face, or speaks at a lectern. No one lets that be bygones. Especially a counter-puncher like Trump who never lets an affront go unanswered.

Because the dunderheads of DC treat a chess pieces as if they were playing checkers it's pretty easy to see their intentions...so long as you don't listen to the 3LAs propaganda organs in western-media, formerly called new-organizations.

The situation that the Hillary/Cheney/Obama/Biden administration [singular-intended] is trying to create is a "heads I win, tails you lose" for Putin/Russia. Hence the direct provocations of Russia. Let's look at possible outcomes.

1] They go unanswered by Russia; presumably" because the Kremlin wants to give Trump a chance. In that case, Team-Biden with the 3LAs media-organs will engage in orgasmic chest beating as they exit, taunting Trump to match their bravado. The 3LA's media hacks will then portray any effort by Trump to "cool things down" as weakness on the part of Trump...effectively preventing any change of course. Yes, this leads to disaster for the the USA but, a lot of people in DC will make boodles of buck betraying their country.

2] The Kremlin forces Putin to respond; presumably" because the Kremlin wants to make it clear to the incoming Trump that this can not go on. In that case, Team-Biden with the 3LAs media-organs will engage in orgasmic chest beating as they exit, taunting Trump to revenge an "unprovoked-attack" by Russia or be called a coward by those who are cowering...safely out of office. The 3LA's media hacks will portray any hesitation by Trump to attack Russia as weakness on the part of Trump...effectively preventing any change of course. Yes, this leads to disaster for the the USA but, people in DC make boodles of bucks betraying their country everyday...it's no big thing to be considered a quisling in the capitol.

So, if both lead to the same end result..what's the Kremlin & Putin to do? My analysis? If I stood in the Kremlin advising Putin my response would be to go hard and early, first stop, take out the Romania & Polish missile bases before November ends, preferably tonight. Let the 3LAs media work against the tide of Turkey's, football, shopping and the installation of Christmas lights. I know the Kremlin never rushes but, let the blow belong to Biden's crew of sociopaths. There's two months time farther away from 20 Jan 25 the better

And I know this will piss off the "ISR-changes-everthing-take-your-time-crowd" but, Time is a factor in war [all conflict really]. Russia needs to end this war ASAP. DC/London is dominated by second rate sociopaths whose nihilism has allowed them to spend their entire existence destroying the lives of good people. Satan's spawn think nothing of risking it all for their dark master...just look at Blinken, Sullivan, "Admiral"-Kirby...et al, they're all nihilistic sociopaths incapable of empathy, pin the tail on their ass.

IMHO, Putin and the Kremlin on one side and Trump and the American Majority he represents are the grown ups.

Putin will likely do nothing. Maybe lob a couple of missiles into Ukraine but will (should) not attack NATO directly -that would be a direct attack on US forces and doing so will put pressure on Trump... this is exactly what Biden's handlers want Russia to do.

Trump will likely do nothing until he gets elected, then he makes a phone call to Putin, and tells NATO to do it themselves if they want to (make sure you have no stocks in Raytheon, LM, etc... by then)... But watch out once he takes over... maybe this time he really ought to put Hillary in jail, huh?

If Putin were to do something nasty, as you suggest, it would make matters worse as it would play into the hands of the outgoing Deep State and Globalists.

I also have confidence on the Pentagon not to trigger a nuclear war. Sometimes the professionals, no matter how much you may dislike them, understand the strategy well enough.

Biden Ramps Up Pressure On Ukraine To Lower Conscription Age From 25 To 18

President Joe Biden’s administration is urging Ukraine to quickly...mobilize troops that have reached 18 years of age. [that's right, a 1960's draft-dodger is telling young men in Ukrainia to go die for the political expediency of the 3LAs & DNC...disgusting]

A senior Biden administration official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private consultations, said Wednesday that the outgoing Democratic administration wants Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 from the current age of 25 to help expand the pool of fighting-age men available to help a badly outnumbered Ukraine in its nearly three-year-old war with Russia.

The outgoing Biden administration is asking Congress to soon approve billions more for Ukraine, this conscription age change policy could serve as the quid pro quo being requested of Kiev from Washington, in order to keep the billions in arms and aid flowing.

The [anonymous] official says the Ukrainians "believe they need about 160,000 additional troops, but the U.S. administration believes they probably will need more than that."

The interview was a welcome discussion. This sort of logical and practical thinking needs to go viral.

I appreciated how in first part the two men did a serious reappraisal about trump and the direction his actions indicate he's going. What I think trump is doing is what he did during his first election campaign/regime. He initially said things people wanted to hear in order to get elected, then once in office did mostly the opposite and made things decidedly worse.

I see the same signs now, that I saw at the post election time in 2020, that indicated trump was not going to do what he said he would do while running for election. He was was a fraud the first time around I think he's a fraud this time around.

We are in for a bumpy ride.

Hmm... Trump did not start any wars on his watch.

He also was very constrained by the Deep State during his first tenure.. The members of his administration actively disobeyed his orders. BUT, this time around he has nothing to lose... heck they tried to assassinate him twice!

This time, the Deep State has no power over him and the SCOTUS gave him all the power he needs over his Executive Branch... he can fire ANYONE he so desires, for no reason. The Congress, the Media, the Public Employee Unions, the Globalists and Bankers... zilch... they have no power over him this a time around.

My only recommendation is that he wear body armor and a helmet.

Russian Federation Military Is #1, With No Peers

Anyone read Korybko?

He's been summoning phantom NATO armies ready to storm into action and talking about how Russia is "out of time".

Somehow Russia "have to" stop fighting & compromise if Trump "does stuff"

Ukrainians can also respawn and be an indeterminate threat in the future. Despite their demographics bring f*cked. With millions of refugees probably not returning.

If USA had a hidden ace up the sleeve for Trump to "do stuff", Biden would used it long ago.

Biden thrown what he could at Russia short Tomahawks. Original plan was to bring Russia to knees by sanctions, did not work. How he first denies then allows military technologies is a dead giveaway that he is improvising and had no backup plan.

Andrew K. lost his way several years ago. Very sad.

He seems to have a nebbish yet obtuse beancounter approach to things, occasionally skipping the numbers. With sweeping "grand geopolitics" that little to do with happenings on the ground.

Like Ukraine being able to wage an insurgency war, with a hollowed out population, and this would implicitly be a dire expense compared to the SMO currently. Even though the RF would likely be using local auxiliaries to do such counterinsurgency policework.

The Dnieper being a magical barrier, even though the RF crossed & bypassed it before.

Then the recent rehash of "the invasion of Belarus meme". Or that NATO will do now what it was better placed to do three years ago I E intervene.

Faces Of Victory: Maria Limanskayahttps://uploads.disquscdn.c..."On November 26, Maria Limanskaya passed away at the age of 100. A Great Patriotic War veteran, she was known as the Queen of the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Traffic Controller.

Maria volunteered for the front at the age of 18. At first, she served with a reserve regiment and made clothes for soldiers. Later, she qualified as a traffic controller and received a baptism of fire near Bataisk, Rostov Region, where she guided traffic under enemy fire as the army was crossing the River Don.

She participated in the Battle of Stalingrad and in the liberation of Simferopol, Byelorussia, and Poland. She went as far as Berlin.

It was Maria Limanskaya who was captured in a famous photograph by the TASS war correspondent Yevgeny Khaldei. The image shows a young girl who is guiding army vehicles near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin a week before the Great Victory.

From Maria Limanskaya’s memoirs: A lot of correspondents came to Berlin after it was captured by the Soviet troops. All of them carried cameras and took a lot of photos. I saw [the photograph] for the first time in the Rabotnitsa magazine in the 1960s. But the caption said it wasn’t me but some other girl. I wrote a letter to the magazine and a reply came shortly from Yevgeny Khaldei himself. He apologised for his mistake.

Maria Limanskaya was also guiding traffic during the Potsdam Conference and even gave the green light to the motorcade of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, Second Grade, and the medals For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War, For the Capture of Berlin, and For the Liberation of Warsaw.

After the war, she worked as a nurse and a school librarian in the Volgograd Region. In 2020, a monument to the famous traffic controller was installed in the city of Marx, Saratov Region."

Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil on X: "🕯 On November 26, Maria Limanskaya passed away at the age of 100.
