Irene gets thread lifts, facial fat transfers, and the typical skin nonsurgical skin tightening treatments, which for her is most likely an RF treatment since that also helps minimize pitted acne scarring too.
Her post-debut thread lifts are very obvious since her nasolabial folds and smaller smile lines dramatically reduced after debut. They last about 18 months, and you can nearly always see the cycle her face goes through before getting it redone. When that is combined with fat transfers, it get change the face quite a lot. Things like poor nutrition, lifestyle habits, and weight fluctuations will cause more pronounced and premature nasolabial folds. To maintain the youthful fullness of the face when the jaw has been shaved or otherwise altered, skin tightening treatments are pretty much mandatory to keep a firm jawline. But these treatments don't give immediate results and have to be done regularly for the results to be maintained. When a threadlift is done, you need to stop any laser or RF treatments for 3 months, which is enough for the jawline to lose its firmness for a while. This is usually when filler or concentrated fat transfer with PRP is used instead during the interim since it can be performed only 2 weeks afterwards rather than the longer 3 months.
Also, these treatments are pretty much standard for the majority of idols, both male and female. That's just part of the entertainment and beauty industries. Idols already have to compete with the professional make up, lighting, and filters people normally see their face under (and that's not counting the extra photoshop done on professional videos or photo shoots that people normalize through exposure). That is a lot to live up to no matter how beautiful you are without it. It creates a vicious cycle of trying to maintain the image fans and the general public are accustomed to, and then if it can even be achieved, it just raises the standards for them again. There is nothing wrong with trying to look your best, but I hope people, especially young people, realize all of the work done behind the scenes even discounting cosmetic procedures that idols go through to maintain their image and the long term damage it can cause, especially on younger idols who have had zero chance to mature past their preteens, if that, not just from cosmetic procedures being done too young and frequently but psychologically as well.
So true have u guys noticed it in kdramas how much the female actresses faces
Are edited and filtered compare to the male actors? ๐ญ
Conan got the kdrama treatment when he visited SK years ago.
Its also a public secret that Song Hyekyo has special request to use certain camera to film her drama.
I started to realise how heavily filtered kpop in now days as well as just general society but i didn't know it applied to dramas too. The line has to be drawn somewhere
Even journalist pictures are edited now.
I'm pretty sure that's a rumour knetz made, cos they noticed in later years her face looks filtered but we don't know that's not a production choice, but knetz love to make her out as a diva who refuses to smile in dramas cos she doesn't want smile lines or is obsessed with not aging when in fact many actresses of her stature also have the blur filter in their dramas
Not a rumour at all. It was production choice at first, the actress should look beautiful when crying (lol). SHK liked the result and she subsequently changed her standard contract to include a clause stating that she must be captured exclusively with ALEXA the camera.

Well mostly because the public networks liked to use shit cameras and some still do. That has nothing to do with the filtering.
the producer wanted more cinematographic and *flawless* result. you can read it in the article source.
SHK really??
yep you can read it here:https://www.arri.com/news-e...
Hi @April thankyou for your hardwork downvoting every comments here. Do you need help?
that's nothing compared to cdrams though lol. that made an 80-year old man have no wrinkles at all; just left his white hair.
I find it hard to watch historical c dramas because of it. The old c dramas were so much better
right. sometimes the filter is really hard to watch
No I see it on SJK in reborn rich too, that blur filter knetz talk about
Idk about that. They do it for both. Song Joong-ki and Lee Joon-gi were some of the most excessive cases this year.
this is so true. i realised that we can't even see their cheekbones this day because they all using blur effect... this also happens in cdrama too.
Why does she look like pre debut Park Bom? Reminds me on those no make up pictures YG released of the 2NE1 members when they debuted... for some reason (this was Bom's)

Here;s a pre debut pic of Bom: https://kpopsurgery.com/wp-...
The funny thing is that Irene smile lines, are not wrinkles - they are her natural charm, she always had them, so in her case those are not wrinkles, but some haters use it to mock her and say that she is old and has wrinkles, they don't know what they are talking about. Some people get those smile lines when they get older but in Irene's case those are not wrinkles.
She was always so gorgeous.
it is a wrinkle though. they aren't just tied to age lol
it's not wrinkle if she always had them, this is her natural charm even this girl on the photo Han Yujoo has smile lines and in her case those are also not wrinkles, we don't call it wrinkles if it was always there, those are genetics, just her face lol even kids have smile lines and in some cases they are more visible just like in Irene case they were always more visible, but those are not normal wrinkles that appear with age... her nasolabial folds were just always deeper
lol it doesn't matter if they were there before. it is a wrinkle.
so you would say that a 10 year old who has visible smile lines has wrinkles? tf no it doesn't work like that, those are not wrinkles in those cases
smile lines and wrinkles are not the same thing but k stay the imbecyle
She was always pretty
someone please send me to her doctor
lol ask these downvotes. did you delulus think she was natural? newsflash, no one is babes.
motherfucker jelaous
lol what? no reason to be jealous.
That comment about her smile lines reads sooooo bitter lol
Meanwhile I'm squinting looking for the "smile lines" they're talking about
They're definitely there and there's nothing wrong with them. Smile lines are cute imo and wrinkles (although she doesn't have any in the picture) are natural. The commenter is bitter as hell because they want everyone to look like airbrushed wax dolls and real beauty is well above that
seriously irene will forever be one of the prettiest idols to me
She is like the prettiest idol for me
always gorgeous <3
so many jealous people in this comment section lol kinda pathetic
Irene is seriously the top visual
They were just looking for a reason to hate her. Pickmes and their internal misogyny towards women who look "intimidating". It says a lot.
sheโs sooo pretty
She looks pretty similar. I think I could spend two houses worth of money on PS and not look close to how she looks.
ofc you can't look like her, but you can get to the same level. people go wrong when they throw their face off-balance
I mean even if I felt generous enough to give one away, Iโd prolly choose someone better.
Goddess before debut and goddess after debut
chat post your before & after selfies of 10 years ago lol
shes pretty
save your breath & your carpal tunnel, tryna deny shes anything but pleasing to the eye.
Irene was followed by other students when she was still at school because they wanted to look at her face, she was always so beautiful. They often looked at her throught the window to look at her studying.
Wtf I see a lot of hate comments here in disqus. Are we having a double moral kind of thing or what?
the lighting is whats making her look "older"(i think she looks younger), also its not as heavily filtered as what we see these days, celebs have all their pores and wrinkles edited out even on video now.
