Neither Russia or China are going to come to Iran's aid at risk of sacrificing trade while risking WWIII. Iran's true allies are Lebanon & Syria and since Russia already jumped in bed with Assad they'll keep him at bay to avoid economic impact and a larger military confict. Iraq has historically been a Iranian ally but Iraq is now split between pro-Iran & pro-coalition. The collations is comprised of our US allies and they have a large military presence already in Iraq. If Iraq was to declare war on us they'd be fighting a Civil War while trying to fight the larger conflict while effectively surrounded.

Honestly, we were lucky WWIII didn't break out after Obama moved to overthrow Russia's ally of Crimea while working to overthrow Russia's ally of Syria after overthrowing Russia's ally of Libya. Crimea risked WWIII is because Russia's Crimean port is their sole military port in the Black Sea and it's home their Black Sea Fleet. The port is very strategic in that it allows Russia to seize control of the Kerch Strait to defend mainland Russia from a Naval attack. What Obama did would be different than if Russia attempted to overthrow Guam's government. We have strategic military bases in Guam thereby we'd respond to the Russian threat with military force until Russia got out. Russia used military force in Crimea solely to secure their military base thereafter Putin took a approach by letting the Crimean people decide. I was actually surprised he did so and I was equally surprised Obama wouldn't respect the Crimean vote. Thus, why I was very worried about WWIII breaking out.

The last time democrats were fooled into believing that accepting (false) evidence and not questioning the US administration was being anti american you invaded Iraq. Now the same democrats are being attacked for supporting that war. But now democrats not wanting to be fooled twice are accused of supporting the enemy. Just like those were then that oppsed the invasion if Iraq.

On January 16th, 2016 Obama then issued an Order lifting nuclear weapons sanctions.
Thus, the Democrats very clearly are responsible for giving Iran ballistic & nuclear weapon capabilities.

What the House Democrats have done would be no different than the following: A political party provides warplanes & warships to Japan that are then used to Pearl Harbor. In defiance of FDR the political party who provided the weapons then used House majority to pass resolution obstructing military force from being used against Japan. Without question, had that occurred, FDR would have had all those involved in the passing of the resolution charged with treason.

The U.S. has plenty of military presence in Baghdad . Since Trump obviously knew where the general was, he could have ordered a roadblock and stopped that caravan. Then arrested Qassem Soleimani and tried him at the International Criminal Court for warcrimes. That takes years and it wouldn't have the same 'impact'. It wouldn't help him with the impeachment or re-election. He definitely got more 'bang' for his buck with a drone strike.

Soleimani was within a convoy with the PMF's Commander & eight PMF militants thereby a roadblock would have resulted in a firefight.

A US Drone Pilot was watching the PMF's convoy because the PMF had attacked a US Embassy. The pilot would have seen the convoy heading toward the military base, near Baghdad International, and would have obtained firing orders. Once the convoy became imminent threat the pilot neutralized the threat.

The media is making it sound as if Soleimani going to catch a flight and as if our embassy was only attacked by pro-PMF "protesters". Photos taken during the attack depict PMF militants in full uniform. Our drones would have seen the same thereby the DoD knew it was the PMF who attacked our embassy. Thus, they started keeping a close eye on the PMF's Commander and Soleimani got himself killed in the process.

Would Iraqi regular police side with the U.S. or the PMF? If they are part of the Iraqi Government, why wouldn't they negotiate?
