New update for Radio restoration mod was released:
Changelog 1/1/2024:
Fixed several solos playing only on one audio channel
Added an option to have pre-Cut Vladivostok with beta songs
Restored TLAD game file from EFLC (previously was used from DLC version which had extra leftovers)
Added an option to split songs from DLCs in base game and vice versa on shared radios (aka Tbogt vladivostok only plays in tbogt and tlad, while IV songs plays only in IV). This option also includes radio station selection in interiors and lap dance songs from vanilla EFLC in DLCs.
Note: currently it's not possible to remove EFLC only stations in IV and vice versa without breaking saving.

Hi Tomasak,

I have something really strange going on. I have had my original GTA IV converted to the GTA IV complete edition via the Rockstar Game Launcher since March 2020. At the end of February 2024, I discovered that for that complete edition there was finally also a possibility to restore the original radio stations. I managed to do this once, but then the game launcher apparently managed to undo that restore: all radio tracks have been back like these since April 2018. Since then I have reinstalled GTA IV CE several times (new, fresh download ), where I start "IVCERadioRestorer.exe" again and again (with admin rights). I have unchecked updates in the Rockstar Game Launcher. All this to no avail: the original radio stations will no longer return.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The game is installed in C:\Games\Rockstar\Grand Theft Auto IV.

I'm running Windows 11

Kind regards

Tom

EDIT: to be clear: FusionFix is installed

Tomasak • 3 months ago

Is update folder properly created and there are rpfs and dat files related to radio downgrader? (sorry for late reply, gmail decided to mark all disqus emails as spam)

Mortov Molotov • 3 months ago

Thank you for your response (and indeed: gmail can be a PINA sometimes ;-))

Concerning the first part of your question: here is a screenshot of my folder structure:
https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

As far as the second part of your question is concerned: i suppose rpfs & dat files are related, given the fact that I used you installer software package? Or am I missing your point? :-)

Tomasak • 3 months ago

The installer should drop fusionfix and radio downgrader files to IV folder. I cant tell that from pic, because it can be only FusionFix files. Can you show what's in update\pc folder or tbogt\pc\update or update\tbogt\pc if there are audio folders?

Mortov Molotov • 3 months ago

Thank you for your reply; here are the requested data:

update\pc folder:
https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

update\tbogt\pc folder:
https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

tbogt\pc\update folder: --> doesn't exist

Tomasak • 3 months ago

everything is present, thats weird. Does fusionfix work? (aka you see extra options in menu such as antialiasing in graphics and so on.)

Mortov Molotov • 3 months ago

Yes they are.
The weird thing is that it worked once, but after an update by RSGL, it no longer did. But after a full uninstall and reinstall, it didn't either.

Could it be some kind of registry problem? A leftover after a reinstall?

BTW, by "it" I mean the radio stations. All other mods installed seem to work.

Tomasak • 2 months ago

no, there seems to be some issue with loading all the files. Are you sure its really not working? After all game always plays eflc songs first and takes osme time to get base iv one.

Mortov Molotov • 2 months ago

Hi! Thx for the reply. I'm afraid not, because I test it using Radio Vladivostok: none of the old songs are playing. And I didn't choose the option to keep them.

Adithya Jayachandran • 5 months ago

Is it possible to uninstall this mod? Can you kindly tell me how?

Tomasak • 3 months ago

If you dont have any other mod installed easiest way would be to remove update folder from GTA IV folder. (and reinstall fusion fix manually if you want that)

Fantorangen NRKSuper • 6 months ago

i hope there will be in the future

New update for Radio restoration mod was released:
Changelog 14/9/2023
New installer - auto detects install path, option to download and install fusion fix, option to remove previously installed downgrader
Added My Beautiful Blue Sky on Self-Actualization FM
Renamed HEAVENANDHELL to HEAVENHELL internally - might restore missing DJ intro lines (i couldn't properly)
Restored missing music in interiors in base game
Restored missing files in EP1_SFX - LIBERTY_ROCK_SOLO_19, LIBERTY_ROCK_SOLO_20
Restored missing RPFs for The Beat 102.7 and The Classics

Changelog 12/9/2023
Used additional RPFs with cut songs and changed files rather than using delta patching - saving final space on storage.
Added Solos from post-cut version - they are same apart from background music - for more diversity - applies to San Juan Sounds and L.C.H.C., Vladivostok has them only with post-cut songs installed.
Removed e2_scripted_speech.rpf as it seems not to be changed WAV wise.
Restored missing ZiT lines for EFLC songs in Japanese GXT (however due to nature of Rockstar disabling DLCs on japanese version, you won't be able to hear DLC songs)
Added three beta songs (only in " all" folder) - Masato Eternity, Lifeforms, We Close Our Eyes
Fixed song - Can't live without your love
All new songs have working ZiT lines and DJ intros (as there were leftover files for them)

I will check the bugs
As for rest this is about restoring and adding content, not cutting it

Bad_player594 • 9 months ago

I mean, you could add an optional option to split the radio, because many don't like the combined radio, but I don't see any need to remove RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM and Vice City FM from IV, and from EFLC to remove some radio stations from GTA IV, for example The Journey.

Tomasak • 9 months ago

no, i might try to split vladivostok in future, but thats all

Tomasak • 9 months ago

is the noise caused by recording or the broken solos are also causing that weird clicking noise?

vavrinko • 6 months ago

GTA IV & EFLC radio separation
https://www.mediafire.com/f...

- with this little patch the game radios will behave like in pre CE versions.
So when you play as Niko only IV songs will play on the radios.
When you play as Johnny or Luis only EFLC songs will play.

- Works in interiors too. Saving is working and TheBeat107.2 plays only EFLC songs in EFLC.

- This mod does not delete any radio stations.
So you will still have ViceCityFM in IV and MassiveB in EFLC etc.

I just edited some lines here and there. So most of the credit for this still goes to the amazing downgrader team that made the game playable for me again.
Thank you, guys.

Tomasak • 6 months ago

if more people test this and report no issues, it will be included in next version as an option during installation :)

nobodyCARES • 6 months ago

It works perfectly. If you haven't already please include it in the latest release for those of us that prefer the original experience!

mona lisa • 7 months ago

Will the mod eventually get to a state where the radio is identical to the retail version of the game. (IV standalone + EFLC standalone)

mona lisa • 10 months ago

Does ZiT work on this mod? (the number you can call that tells you the name of the songs)

Tomasak • 10 months ago

Yes

Bad_player594 • 12 months ago

Very good news! I think I was able to restore DJ lines on Vice CIty FM and Self-Actualization FM. Fernando Martinez commented on the song Love Changes, you may ask how I did it? I just used the original Speech.dat file from EFLC and I deleted everything from it except the replicas of two radio stations and I added a file called RADIO_SPEECH.dat to update\TLAD\pc\audio\config and I edited the file e1_radio.xml adding <speech content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/config/radio_speech.dat</speech> and after i see the DJs' comments on these radio stations returned, but I'm not sure it works fine, but you can download it here https://mega.nz/file/YnsESD...

fluffy doge • 10 months ago

Will this work if the downgrader is already installed? don't want to redownload it after reinstalling

Bad_player594 • 10 months ago

Yes

Bad_player594 • 12 months ago

And now he also commented on the songs Terence Trent D’Arby — Wishing Well and Nu Shooz — I Can’t Wait and Robbie Nevil — C’est la Vie and Prefab Sprout — When Love Breaks Down and Roxette — The Look and 'Til Tuesday — Voices Carry and Narada Michael Walden — Divine Emotions and Womack & Womack — Teardrops and Coldcut feat. Lisa Stansfield — People Hold on on Vice City FM, and as I see it works great, the game now thinks that the comments of Self-Actualization FM and Vice City FM are DLC The Lost and Damned, and as I see it, this does not lead to a lack of commentary on Radio Broker and Liberty Rock Radio because Iggy Pop commented on the song Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive, and on Self-Actualization FM Audrey commented on the songs Alucidnation - Skygazer (3002) (Remix) and The Orb - A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld (Live Mix MK10) and Tom Middleton - Moonbathing and Chilled by Nature - Go Forward (Love Bubble Mix).

But I recommend you to do few tests, and I also deleted only the entries in this file, as in the screenshot https://imagizer.imageshack... but I hope that this will not lead to bad.

And I've already uploaded an unofficial update on Nexus Mods.

And I also don't know if I need to edit the file e1_audio.xml but as I see it, this is not necessary.

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

And so, when will this be added to Radio Downgrader? That's why I was able to restore them, and I don't confuse them with jingles, because the DIvinie Emotion song has the game playing the DIVINEEMOTION_01 file, but I don't know English very well, and the Teardrops song has the game playing the TEARDROPS_01 file and Fernando Martines seems to have said "This Track Is Teardrops Look At My Face"

And folders General, Time, To also usage.

And there were several intro on Self-Actualization FM too, including General and Time folders, and I found out not long ago that this way it was also fixed in the mod Grand Theft Auto - The Actual Complete Edition

Tomasak • 11 months ago

So you added the speech to tlad speech dat and didnt get to crashing? If thats the case i will add it here when i get home

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

Yes, it works without crashes, and I myself was very surprised that it works.
And it also won't replace the original EP1_RADIO_SPEECH.DAT.

Now we have two speech files from TLAD and it works, the first one is EP1_RADIO_SPEECH.DAT and this is the speech of Liberty Rock Radio and Radio Broker, and the RADIO_SPEECH.DAT file is the speech of Self-Actualization FM and Vice City FM [It's in folder update/TLAD/pc/audio/config].

And for this I also needed to edit the file e1_radio.xml and I added it to the update\TLAD folder, and now it looks like this:

-<episodeoneradio>
<noloadingtune/>
<game content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/config/ep1_radio_game.dat</game>
<sounds content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/config/ep1_radio_sounds.dat</sounds>
<speech content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/config/ep1_radio_speech.dat</speech>
<speech content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/config/radio_speech.dat</speech>
<wavepack content="ascii">e1:/pc/audio/sfx/EP1_SFX.rpf</wavepack>
</episodeoneradio>

And you can check it yourself.

Tomasak • 11 months ago

Sorry for taking so long to update it. Its now part of archive :). I credited you as takemeoff, since thats what you use on GTAF, unless its someone else :D
Thanks a lot, works nicely

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

Yes, thank you, and I'm also wondering if you've seen the mod https://gtaforums.com/topic... / for GTA 5 which restores all 200+ songs that were removed from the game during development and it doesn't replace existing songs, it was done with Codewalker and OpenIV,
And it also restores the song Kano - Can't Hold Back (Your Lovin') on radio Space 103.2 which was deleted in the Los Santos Tuners update, I don't know if more songs will be deleted for the 10th anniversary, but if so, the mod will be updated, and also the author said that to create a new Soulwax FM mix with cut-out songs took him 2-3 days.
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Tomasak • 11 months ago

Ye i saw it, its nice stuff. But iv lacks proper tools still, its all duping hex stuff and Parik stuff is still private to his hands and unfinished.
As for V downgrader, i currently have no plans, the cut song is still in game files, only disabled (maybe its actually a mistake idk)

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

I downloaded the updated archive and did not find the files e1_radio.xml and RADIO_SPEECH.dat, did you forget to update the archive?

Tomasak • 11 months ago

mega trolled me, it shows as update in my folder but the link itself contained somehow old archive, Fixed now, thanks for notifying me.

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

Hi, I have news (or problems) about GTA 5 Radio Downgrader, because in order to return the cut music, you will also need to return the original update.rpf and update2.rpf files, and you may ask me what the problem is? And the fact is that many play GTA 5 with mods and every GTA Online update updates these files, that is, if GTA Online update is released, then you will have to update GTA 5 Radio Downgrader, otherwise if you try to return the original files using Diff, it will damage the files. However, for those who play with modified update.rpf and update2.rpf files, I think you should make it possible to install the mod manually using OpenIV.

And as I understand it, I myself can make a Radio Downgrader for GTA 5 when an update is released that removes some songs, using Diff? But I haven't figured out how to work with Diff yet.

Tomasak • 11 months ago

Probably make rpf with cut songs and then either oiv to autoinstall mount to it or give use how to install.

Bad_player594 • 10 months ago

Hi. I noticed another mistake related to DJ lines (but it is also in the original GTA IV). The song Black Sabbath — Heaven and Hell from Liberty Rock Radio in the game files is called as HEAVENANDHELL, but the two intros for this one are called as HEAVENHELL not HEAVENANDHELL, so according to my research, the game most likely cannot play these intros, initially I wanted to rename the DJ lines through RAGEAT, but he doesn't want to save the changes in Speech.dat, and as I see it, the only way to fix it is to rename the file with the song to HEAVENHELL, I was able to do it, but also need to make changes in SOUNDS.DAT15 and in GAME.DAT16 (These changes need to be made both for "Without new Vladivostok" and for "With new Vladivostok".

File with song:
https://imagizer.imageshack...

Flies with intro:
https://imagizer.imageshack...

I didn't notice such mistakes in other songs.

Renamed the HEAVENANDHELL file, and I also renamed the left and right channels:
https://mega.nz/file/Y2NijI...

Bad_player594 • 11 months ago

No, it was done intentionally, it was deleted from the rel files that are in update\update.rpf\x64\audio\config, so if they delete more songs, then you need to return these original rel files, I think it's possible all files except files that start with dlc_gtao and also this the song has been removed from TrackID. 13 songs were also deleted from iFruit Radio, in the game files it's called the Skepta playlist, but I'm 99% sure that this is a mistake, since the song 100k On A Coupe can still be heard in the final cutscene of the Casino Heist, and also all these songs were saved in TrackID, but I'm also sure that these can be restored, but the author does not want to deal with GTA Online content.

Unkown User • 12 months ago

Hello, I noticed that the author of Rage Audio Toolkit was online 18 hours ago [he did not leave the site] so maybe you could write him a message and ask if he can do something with the missing DJ lines of Self-Actualization FM and Vice City FM.
https://gtaforums.com/profi...

The only thing I could do was to add these lines to Files in Speech.dat:
RADIO_MEDITATION\GENERAL
RADIO_MEDITATION\INTRO
RADIO_MEDITATION\TIME
RADIO_VCFM\GENERAL
RADIO_VCFM\INTRO
RADIO_VCFM\TIME
RADIO_VCFM\TO

And this does not lead to a crash game, but it will not restore the DJs' lines, since this should also be in Entries in Speech.dat:
DJ_VCFM_GENERAL
DJ_VCFM_INTRO
DJ_VCFM_TIME
DJ_VCFM_TO
DJ_SELFREALIZATION_GENERAL
DJ_SELFREALIZATION_INTRO
DJ_SELFREALIZATION_TIME

And they should also have the same characteristics as in EFLC, for example:
DJ_SELFREALIZATION_GENERAL
Number of sounds: 1
Sound Name: GENERAL
File Patch: RADIO_MEDITATION\GENERAL
Sounds Variation: 25
Sounds Durations (for DJ's speech): 112, 147, 110, 49, 78, 110, 101, 63, 80, 50, 91, 178, 101, 163, 140, 139, 192, 162, 120, 184, 213, 163, 124, 163, 148

Tomasak • 12 months ago

The bug with tool is numerous times reportes in his thread, so if he fixes it, i can edit the files

Unkown User • 12 months ago

Well, thanks for the answer, I already wanted to write this in the comments of Rage Audio Toolkit.

And I also want to tell you that it seems there is no way to restore the cut songs in the video editor, so these restored files remain unused:
CALL_FROM_THE_GRAVE
GUALLANDO
JONATHAN_PETERS_MUSIC
THE_BEST_THING
YOU_NEVER_KNOW

I have no idea why they deleted the Guallando, The Best Thing, You Never Know songs since it is still playing on the radio in CE, and also they deleted these files:
A_CITY_UNDER_SIEGE
BOXER
KID_CONGA
KNOCK_YOU_OUT
STICKIN

But it makes sense to restore them, because they forgot to remove the ability to select these songs (In CE without Radio Downgrader in TBoGT, if you go to the video editor and Electro-Choc and rewind to the very bottom, then you can select songs from GTA TBoGT, but they don't play anything because these files are no more, but Radio Downgrader fixes this].

For GTA 4, could you make another option for adding the 4 beta songs on only pre-Vladivostok? I dislike the additions of post-Vladivostok.

Bad_player594 • 6 months ago

You can use my mod that restores all beta songs https://gtaforums.com/topic...

sure, more people wanted this, i will get to it :)

Isn't possible to make IV play russian Vladivostok only and TBoGT dance Vladivostok ? i mean no mix 2 versions in TBoGT.
Like old times when games was split.

It would be perfection to this awesome mod.

Tried on Steam CE version.
