The first time the prompt to restart popped up he cancelled / "erased" it. I'm guessing if you fail the spirit-sense-check the spirits in the pictures enter your phone and if you don't restart right there they get everywhere and you're fucked.

The lore that phones are able to detect spirits and that just a quick restart can deal with them like it's just some minor bugs is funny though lol
