Ikr. Normally they would just mention but wouldn't make any change to the animation or even if they make changes they would turn back to normal after few frames.
And her tan was subtle, easy to miss if you don't pay attention, which is more realistic.

The way Mitsumi ran back to give Shima more snacks was cute. As expected of Mitsumi, she noticed something wrong with him right away. It doesn't seem like Shima can escape from his acting career anymore. Looks like a drama is coming during this Cultural Festival.

So I wasn't the only one who heard it huh? I don't think she used that accent while attending school, but I guess that might've been to avoid getting labeled as a country bumpkin.

Yeah it was very noticeable when she went back home. I believe she might have let it slip a few times, like I remember one instance where she was so surprised she spoke out in dialect, however I can't remember if the others didn't understand what she said or not.

this show is a masterpiece man it managed to even make the boring archetype of country girl enjoyable and have some depth and , even the extremely hate worthy girl mako has me feeling butterflies due to her development.

That last scene where Mitsumi turned around and ran back to give Shima extra crackers because he seemed down was heartmeltingly sweet. Almost brought a tear to my eye, it's on the way...you can almost feels the heals. :):):)

He has some trauma with his past friend or crush. Let's hope he be able to get over it soon ;)

This was such a fun and relaxing episode.
The ending though...

I absolutely adored the Non Non Biyori-vibe slow country-life montage while Mitsuri-chon was chumping away at that water melon. SoOoO flippin good!😛

I thought was going to have a deeper voice after waking up lol.

It's sweet how Fumi waited until seeing Mitsumi before telling her about her new boyfriend, the way they were squealing was so cute.

I also really liked how Mitsumi stopped trying to make her Japanese sound standard because she made friends that wouldn't make fun of her dialect, that's such a heartwarming reveal she made.

It's sad to see Shima so down, I'm guessing his summer break wasn't a pleasant one. Even Mitsumi's energy wasn't enough to cheer him up. I'm glad she pointed it out. For a moment I was worried that they were getting too distant so I'm glad he still responded to her when she ran after him.

Looks like Shima is going to have trouble convincing the class he doesn't want to perform, I'm sure there'll be many who will push him to play the lead because of his looks and popularity. Hopefully he'll be able to work backstage in the end.

With Shima‘s luck they will probably want him to act lol

I really enjoyed that montage of the calm countryside town with the audio overlay of Mitsumi munching on the watermelon, it really upped the level of cozy and soothing and was a great choice by the directors

Oh no Shima :( The class is probably gonna push him to be the male lead but hopefully that won't bring too many unresolved traumas... or Mitsumi and co will be there to support him all the way through

I feel the emotions flowing in me, little random kindness to other people really is a big thing, we don't know what other really feel at that moment but we should act kind to others when we have a chance, we might have the chance to help them or save them whatever the situation there on.

So many cute, sweet wholesome show this season but i don't see any good laugh funny animes for a while now. Like the last one was Asobi asobase. Anyone know any other anime of that kind?

Non non Byori is actually both. It's highly wholesome and cute but just about each episode elicits a belly laugh or three or at least a "HA!".

It Really is! For a month it was my happy place during stressful days while I binged the whole thing...including movies. (which really says something coming from me, since I generally avoid movies)

It's a pretty funny series, also it's a Chinese/Korean one but there's also a JP dub and ENG dub to it as well.
