Well, maybe we'll finally learn what わんく(Wanku) means! Or not. At least I still have no clue. More questions than answers this episode. Now I'm just hoping this isn't all just in his head, maybe it's a simulation of sorts? Like the Matrix? Or it's really happening and he can imagine his potential failure very vividly?

At this point, I think I am just done with the shows / movies trying to portray the actual magical / sci-fi elements as just been "all in the head of the protagonist".
Is basically a more overcomplicated and snob version of the "it's all a dream" plot twist everyone hates.

I only liked when the audience is 100% aware the fantastical and sci-elements are 100% the true, but the enemy is trying to gaslight the protagonists into believing otherwise (making it extra ironic that the "realistic" version, is actually the one that's all in their heads).

Meh, I think Imma drop this here, I haven't been enjoying this too much but this episode was just so bad for me. I'm not even curious to learn how that severed head is able to speak and move or how it seems like Kyotarou and Shabon are in cahoots.

I mean...honestly? If I was Kyotarou...I'd side with the enemy as well, with how much he's been abused by the magical girls XD

When the magical girls first appeared to Otaku Hero, he appeared out of nowhere, and everyone treated him like has always been with them

The whole premise of meta-cultural commentary must be flying over your head. Which is okay, you will get on the level where you will find this more enjoyable than an average "another world" or slice-of-life eventually.

Lol, you should have questions everything and want the answers since ep.1 not just some speck of dust lmao. Tbh, you're not suppose to bring your brain when watching this series. I will just gonna continue this show and hopefully get all the answers in the last couple episodes since I was curious since episode 1, everything just doesn't make any sense to me but I'm still enjoy it nonetheless.

IIRC, "wanku" is a diminutive slur meaning (a) "dog" of the government/authority (the shogunate/bakufu), it carries the same connotation of calling a police officer (a) "pig". Those who enforce the will of the administration/feudal lord would be called that by the commoners if the decrees they enforced were unpopular with the townfolk (such as collecting taxes or arresting a popular guy for political reasons).

Either that or it's a transliteration of "wanker".
