A missed opportunity for Kozakura to finally attempt making those friends she wanted, I guess the bullying she endured has made it harder for her and she'll need to work on that first. I do have to admit that watching her so fervently try to get out of the invitation rubbed me the wrong way a bit at first.

Hajime's mum is partly to blame for not communicating with him. A major part of him quitting violin was to spare her feelings but as the adult she thankfully handles the trauma far better than Hajime so she should help him with his trauma.

Ikr. MC just seems like way too much of a side character with how supposedly unremarkable his violin skills seem. But it's alright, since I guess he hadn't played it for a while... Still tho, he did manage to amaze that redhead, so idk why he isn't doing that violin magic again.

this is just my opinion based on my history with marching band. it's really hard to "sync" your tune to others. especially if you used to play solo. that wanna be free to play feeling is real.

It's not all that easy to change, despite saying you want to and even going to a new place where no one knows you. Haru will most likely never overcome her timidness unless something of great significance happens in her future. However, as a side character I don't think that will be the case.

Re your penultimate sentence, this sounds like a common anime trope, but it isn't necessarily jealousy, if you've seen Mizore in HibiEupho, especially in Liz Bluebird. Part of it is Haru seeing herself as a burden.

Akine was also heavily bullied for trying to defend Haru so those bullies weren't deterred either way.

Violin teacher here with a few "insider" considerations:
What the white haired kid said about not being able to play forte is pretty realistic,
one of the biggest difficulties with many students is to teach them to play loud and of course beautifully at the same time.
There are numerous reasons why it's so difficult, the first one is that the violin is extremely near to the ears of the violinist, so it's often difficult for the player to judge how the sound will be in a few meters distance or in the last rows of a concert hall.
Also, since the violin is such a difficult instrument, many students and even professionals play "quieter" or "safer" in a concert situation, to try to be more in control and avoid mistakes, but of course then the sound won't be really nice.
It is a natural reaction to be more introspective and closed in a situation where you are nervous, but to play beautifully you have to constantly fight back this natural instinct.
Funnily, many young children don't have this problem, they just play loud even when it sounds horrible 😅 in my experience it's when they become teens/preteens, that they start to pay more attention at how others perceive them and then often lose the courage to play loud without worries.
